A word of warning from Apples own site! http://www.apple.com/uk/batteries/ipods.html
Charge Cycles
A properly maintained iPod battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity after 400 full charge and discharge cycles.
iPod Owners
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your warranty to two years with AppleCare. During the second year, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for £86.29 (UK) / €131.10 (Ireland) including VAT. Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally-friendly manner.

I agree no scroll bar that I can see??
very strangeA shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.0 -
They were trying to shift these yesterday at a £129 so I guess they got no takers. This is a very old device and I wouldn't touch it with the proverbial bargepole. Much better to get one of the 4th gen models, or even a mini. Even better, an IRiver.0

bargins are bargins....at the end of the day, once battery life dies (if outside the 1 year warranty) go on ebay and buy a pattern one, they are higher capacity than apple ones and easy to fit.
I bought a gen 3 one recently from one of the posts here, a 20gb one and I'm well pleased with it, didn't come with the remote, but after emailing them they have sent one for meWelcome, rogerramjet.
