Hi all, I am thinking of getting a new laptop and looking at this model https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-AG15-32P-Laptop-Integrated/dp/B0F4R6BZSQ?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&utm_source=chatgpt.com&th=1 I currently have a Toshiba but its running windows 8 - I only want something for webbrowsing, Googledocs basic tasks etc, but some feedback on my choice would be very helpful, Thanks

I have recently purchased an ASU with 15inch screen which works very well. I decided the either intel and amd processors made most sense as theses seams to have no or little issues. I would go for 16gb
ram though. 8gb is a bit tight. The only thing I am not 100% keen on with the asus is the keyboard. Otherwise a great option and good value.0 -
Thank you for taking the time to get back to me on this, that gives me some other options to look at now.0

Full HD (1920 x 1080) 15" is OK. Nothing special, but OK.8GB memory isn't much by modern standards. But it's what my PC has, and it's OK for light use.128GB storage is really bargain basement. By the time you have Windows 11 installed, then install all your favourite applications, it's going to be getting a bit full.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
For light use it seems capable but try the techie forum, there may be people who have actually tried that particular model.

The processor (N150) is a bit slow and basic too - You can do so much better for this money !
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
It seems to have gone up in price since 10:00am, sure it was under £300 - now £326.MouldyOldDough said:The processor (N150) is a bit slow and basic too - You can do so much better for this money !
Would the OP consider a reconditioned laptop? There's bargains to be had in 2nd user business machines.1 -
Thanks everyone for your input - I don't think I would consider reconditioned thank you for thinking of this, but what would you suggest please - @MouldyOldDough you mention that I could do better for this money, if you have any version in mind please let me know so that I can investigate. This laptop really only needs to be for house use thanks, no picture editing, graphic packages etc required. Thank you.

My Acer Aspire lasted for years and years and I'd absolutely get one again next time I need to buy a laptop.
But as others have said, do take the time to do the rather boring job of comparing models so you're getting the most memory/processing etc for your money0 -
