I need to buy a very expensive sink

I need to buy a very expensive sink £700 ish…. Is there anything I can do to get at least something in return for it - I use top cashback but the website I will be buying it from isn’t on there. Could I get a new credit card specifically for that expenditure - I have good credit and would pay off in full and then probably ditch it after that.

It’s such a lot of money I’d rather get something extra if I can.

Why do you "need" to buy a very expensive sink, rather than "want" to buy one? Especially given the name of this site?

Will a cheap sink not work properly?

Why do you need to buy a very expensive sink? It sounds like this is a sink you can't really afford...
  • It’s to do with making it fit in to an existing kitchen without having to redo the worktops and plumbing etc which would end up costing more. I can afford it now from savings, without a credit card, but paying on a credit card obviously protects me. I just wanted to see if anyone knew of a way to get something back either points or cashback or something to make the purchase more worthwhile for me.

More than anything else it depends who you are buying from, and whether they are asking retail price for it. If it's standard product (as opposed to custom-built) then you can look at other local kitchen places to see if they are discounting (for example ex-showroom stock) - or you can go in and ask if they will do a deal.
But the general rule is that if it's an "aspirational" brand, it may never be discounted.

Buying it on a debit card also protects you.

At best you could take out an AMEX Everyday Credit Card which would give you 5% back but AMEX can be quite picky (I'm guessing you have no other credit cards hence the question) so you may not get it and it'd be £35 that you'd get back in a year. Is it really worth it?

I appreciate my comment has nothing to do with your original question, but I do hope it helps you with saving.
I would advise that you consider shopping around too, I bought two granite sinks (blanco), wren wanted £750 and £600 for each, I bought the same brand (blanco) from a smaller supplier for £320 and £300 (or something around that price). We've had them now for 1.5yrs+
It was a bit of an online risk, as I've not inspected the ptoduct before purchase, but got lucky.

I would have a chat to a decent kitchen fitter and see if they can sort out the existing kitchen to accept a new sink that is not so expensive.

I would also look at lots of sinks online that will fit the dimensions of the hole it needs to go into.

When we had our kitchen done, John Lewis substituted the sink for another at the last minute which wasn't the design we wanted (it was a single sink, we wanted a 1 and a half). So I ordered an alternative sight unseen SMEG sink from an online seller  which fitted the dimensions (small kitchen, not much flexibility in size) from https://www.sinks.co.uk and got it delivered and then fitted with the rest of the kitchen.
