I can't reach the new voucher spend of £90.00

The new Tesco's vouchers are useless for me. I can't reach the £90 minimum spend to be able to use them.
The original voucher scheme was perfect for me. You just received regular vouchers with no minimum spend.
The new vouchers are just going straight in the bin. Anybody else having this problem?

  • Can you be more specific - what Tesco's voucher scheme?

The "standard" Clubcard scheme allows spend after collecting a pound's worth.

Can you explain what vouchers these are?
I have some Clubcard vouchers but don’t see any restrictions on spending them. Perhaps you are meaning something entirely different?

I am also somewhat miffed by the latest round of Tesco's "Spend £XX get £X off" coupons.

The minimum spend for me has jumped from £50 to £70 which means I am unlikely to use all 4 that they have sent me.

@flaneurs_lobster and @cannugec5 these coupons are in addition to the usual Clubcard vouchers you get on every pound spent and appear occasionally in the app or by post.

I don't seem to receive the regular vouchers anymore.
Today's mail brought  4 vouchers varying between £9.00 and £13.00. I can't use any of them because I have to spend £90.00 to be able to use them.

My Mum gets these, I think they are targeted as those that spend less in Tesco as I never get them. If they are what I think they are they are in addition to your club card point vouchers.
No chance of spending them in the run up to Christmas?

I get vouchers all the time but not had any conditional spend vouchers for ages, just get the usual £ / % off / extra points on various items.

The whole point of these is to make you spend more than you usually would, in order to get the saving.

Tesco is not a charity - they are not just going to give you money off things you would buy anyway.

The only real criticism that can be made of Tesco is that they have available the world's most sophisticated loyalty scheme with billions of datapoints that allows precise targeting of marketing material to individual customers - why waste the process on people who won't reach the required spend and therefore will not engage.

The sad thing about these offers is that some people will be tempted to spend that bit more at this time of the year and put the cost on their credit cards.

I myself when using a similar scheme with another retailer just boost the spend if need be with food cupboard items that I know we will use and do not buy any of the them next month, but I realise not everyone has the wherewithal to do that.
