Another poster posted a link to a bereavement support group, so I guess that is what the OP meant with the comment about being in the wrong forum.ali_bear said:This forum is for pensions and retirement so you're not in the wrong place.
Sorry to hear of your losses. It must be a difficult time for you and these kinds of life event can bring huge changes that take time to adjust to.
However as you say this forum is not totally about just money ( although obviously it is the main theme) , and other retirement issues are often discussed.0 -
OP, you do seem relatively wealthy and so I wondered, in time, if you couldn't drive to the place could you get a taxi to different social activities you may wish to attend. I'm not sure what your interests are or how far you would have to travel but it would be good to get out of the house and speak to different people. If some of these events were at the same time (which they quite often tend to be) if you would give you a bit of structure, e.g. 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon I go to x and 11am on Friday morning I go to y.Albermarle said:

If you don't like going to x or y then no worries just try something else. Are you a member of your local Facebook group so you can see what's going on locally or perhaps there's a Good Neighbours group you could join.
I know it's baby steps at first but I'm sure in time your social circle would widen.
Even just going to your local park for a walk you may see the same faces and get to chat to some of the people there too.
