I dont think this is common but one person said it had happened with their Zopa loan uphold, see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81503284#Comment_81503284

I suggest that making affordable payments is a good idea.
    Thank you once again

Hi, this was me and, just to add, the next payment due (according to my account is listed as £0.00 on 31.12.1901

hoping to stay in the shadows on this one!

separately, I have had 2 complaints against Virgin upheld…they are not currently showing on my credit file (not sure if this was while my case was being reviewed by FoS) but I’m thinking they will appear again!

Thank you, that's good to know. My account currently shows they're expecting a payment on the 2nd Jan still unfortunately, I will take my time with it and see how the land lies.
  • I have received this from Bamboo today, I'm thinking now it might be best just to ignore it again and wait to default rather than make any payments? They've said they'll remove any markers once the balance is repaid, however with what I'll be offering initially it could take quite a few years resulting in markers potentially on there for more than 6 years, or perhaps they get fed up and sell it on so they aren't removed later as agreed.

For reference this is a lon I've won an affordability complaint on however they've agreed to remove any negative markers once the balance is fully settled.

"As your contractual payments remain at £93.35 per month, if a payment plan for less than this amount is agreed, further arrears will accrue on your account which will be reported on your credit file each month, but we’ll also report that you’re in a formal arrangement with us. I understand my colleague has responded separately confirming that once your loan is repaid, any adverse information will be removed, which includes the items I’ve mentioned above."

Does going back to radio silence and waiting to default seem like the more appropriate option again here rather than offering payments?
