Estate management company - concerns of numerous residents

Hi all,
I live on a fairly new build estate, as part of our contracts, there is a clause in which we are obliged to pay an annual fee for estate management. This is a specific company for the estate, but is outsourced to a company called Remus.
Each year numerous residents are concerned when the statements are sent out, they basically consist of ~£7000 grass cutting (grounds maintenance) fees, <£2000 other actual work (including tree work) - and then about £20000+ in ‘management fees’
as far as we can tell, other than gather quotes and arrange for the grounds maintenance company (a local company) - the management company seem to have done very little.
the general consensus seems to be the management fee needs to be improved on - or there may be an appetite to manage this by a potential team of residents if that were possible, and scrap the management outsourcing all together.
does anyone have any experience or advice they could offer? I have no doubt that this would help several hundred people on this estate alone if something can be achieved here, and it would be great if this could become a more widely recognised area for residents to address.
thanks for any help you can offer
