Toner for Samsung ML - 1510

I bought a Samsung ML-1510 about 6 months ago and the 1/3 filled toner that comes with the printer is starting to run out. I have looked on pricerunner.co.uk and the cheapest I can find is £47.92 inc vat and delivery (super saver delivery) from ebuyer.co.uk

Is it possible to get it cheaper elsewhere or should I start looking at refilled items etc?
What are refilled toner's like on quality etc?

I've got one of these printers and they're easy to refill yourself by removing the cap at one end of the drum and pouring in some more toner.
Have a look at https://www.consumablecafe.co.uk/acatalog/SAMSUNG_BOTTLED_TONER.html
I understand that you can refill between 3 and 11 times (it depends on which website you're looking at) before the drum has to be replaced.
I hope this helps.0 -
Thanks for your reply, i just have few questions if thts ok.
What is the print quality like when using toner refill?
Is it easy to do?
How much is 1 bottle is comparison to the drum?Rock on MSE!!!0 -
Last things first - a bottle of toner is £7.99 (hit the link I've given and you'll go straight to the site).
Refilling is a doddle - remove the cap, tip in the toner powder, replace the cap, shake the unit and off you go. The FAQ's on the website will tell you all about it. Just in case there was a problem I refilled mine in the open air, making sure of course that it wasn't windy!!!
I haven't noticed any difference between the quality of the printout's. On the website you'll see that they say that mixing toners of different manufacture's can cause a problem, so you should bear this in mind (see also their solution to the possible problem). Saying that, when I refilled my unit it still had some 'Samsung' toner in it and I've not had any problems in the 6 reams that I've printed on the refill.0 -

sorry when i meant how much i meant in quantity. Does 1 bottle fill up the drum or will i need to order 2 etc.
ThanksRock on MSE!!!0 -
No problem.
You'll need just the one bottle per refill.
As you'll see from the website this should give you approx 2000 copies (at the industry benchmark of a 5% yield). An original manufacturers unit should produce between 2500 - 3000 copies (at the same yield rate).
As you know the ML-1510 has a toner saving option, which is how I've managed to get, so far, 3000 copies from the refill (in case you were wondering).
Also, I made a small mistake in my last reply. The refilling instruction are on the webpage marked REFILL INSTRUCTIONS and not in FAQ's - sorry about that.0 -
Further to my last post. If you scroll down the page at
https://www.consumablecafe.co.uk/acatalog/FAQ.html
you'll find some visual instructions on how to refill the cartridge of your printer.0 -
Thanks mssjab, you have been really helpful
