Charging order on house preventing sale

Apologies if this is not the correct forum

Long story short, dad is an idiot with money resulting in a charging order the house (more than one!)

Parents are at the point of exchange/completion to then be told they can’t as they cannot find the owner of one the charging orders to pay it.

It was originally with the British Credit Trust, who sold the debt to Lowell’s before they were liquidated.

Lowell’s are saying they don’t have a record of it (but they can find other debts he hasn’t paid)

We have been around multiple companies that may have had it and got nowhere. I found the liquidators of BCT and the solicitors dealing with the sale have contacted them and they came back with another name - Overdales, who are part of Lowells and are saying they don’t have a record of it.

All our searching has bought us back to Lowell’s. Are we just not asking the right questions to find out where this charging order is. What specific department should we be trying to speak to?

We are trying to prevent the sale from falling through and need to get this resolved as soon as possible. Whatever happens the house needs to be sold as the mortgage also hasn’t been paid (story of his life)
