TBF this may well just be a case of "our reasoning for telling them to get stuffed wasn't as watertight as it could have been; we need to do it again to avoid yet another judicial review" rather than "we've found £20 billion down the back of the sofa, let's give them what they want after all".MattMattMattUK said:This seems a like another bad decision by the government, I expect an influx of people on here over the next few days demanding to know when it will be paid.
"Current Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden told the Commons that retaking the decision would not automatically lead to compensation."Retaking this decision should not be taken as an indication that government will necessarily decide that it should award financial redress," he said."0 -
The JR hearing was due to start in December. They haven't found £20bn, but they must have found some additional evidence which hasn't as yet been disclosed.Aretnap said:

Caught the tale end of an interview....seems the original decision not to pay compo was based on the belief that the majority of people had known about the future changes. The challenge is being based on the claim that the majority of people who did know were mainly men, and that only 28% of women knew.daveyjp said:

Are they really trying to say that all these men knew, but deliberately kept that information from their wives/sisters/mothers? Why would they?4 -
Not automatically.sgx2000 said:I'm sure the government didn't tell me when my pension age went up to 66.... Can I get compo?
If your born between 6th April 1953 and 5th April 1960 you might want to consider putting a complaint in as a starting point.
