Taking State Pension and Continuing Employement

Hi
My state pension date is approaching. I receive a Teachers' Pension, and I am currently working part-time. I don't want to defer my State Pension, but I want to continue working. Other than tax issues, are there any reasons why I couldn't take my State Pension, but continue working?

Note: you can try to mitigate tax issues if you want.Depending on the numbers, you might want to stick your earnings from part-time work into a SIPP who will claim tax relief (but only if you can afford to live off your teachers pension + state pension)Your ability to get tax relief on SIPP contributions is tied to your “relevant earnings” (mainly from employment or self-employment) — not your age or the fact you’re receiving a State Pension. So, if you keep working, you can continue to pay into a pension or SIPP and get tax relief.
Hope that make sense.I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!1 -
