Lowell refusing to provide debt is mine.

Hello,
I have asked Lowell three times since August to provide proof that a debt belongs to me. I have quoted the relevant legislation l from the FCA
CONC 7.14.401/04/2014R
Where there is a dispute as to the identity of the borrower or hirer or as to the amount of the debt, it is for the firm (and not the customer) to establish, as the case may be, that the customer is the correct person in relation to the debt or that the amount is the correct amount owed under the agreement.
In replay they just state the amount they claim I owe, nothing else.
I have no knowledge of the debt, It doesn't appear on my credit file, I have no outstanding CCJ's or defaults and a healthy credit history.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

I have, I used the template in the last email I sent to them on 21/10/25. I have since received a letter asking for payment and a email response that just quotes the sum they claim I owe.Brie said:Have you sent them something like the "provit" letter on here?

In which case ignore them.0

I would send them a formal complaint saying you are disputing that the debts is yours and asked Lowell to provide proof, but they have not yet done so.0

As above, exhaust their complaints process, and escalate to the FOS if you remain unsatisfied.
Its really best practice to send a letter of complaint, an email can come from anyone, wear as a letter is legally deemed to be from the sender and is usually taken more seriously.
