National insurance Gaps v pension received at retirement age

I have used the forecaster which shows I have 4 Ni gaps as I stopped working, I was looking  to make up these gaps.
However I have another 5 years before the state pension age does this mean I have pay these 5 years to keep my pension at its maximum or by not paying would the weekly amount  start to reduce  even though i have filled the existing Gaps.
Think i have confused myself

No, your State Pension amount won';t decrease - it;s not necessary to fill in every gap in order to qualify for the full amount.
The key is to check your individual State Pensino Forecast, which will vary from individual to individual, to see what you are in line to get and whether you need to contribute for further years to get there.

As above, your pension forecast will give you all the information you need going forward.  It will show how much you have achieved to date, something that cannot be taken away, and what more you need to do - if anything - to reach the maximum pension.  Don't just look at the big green box at the top because that is only half the story, the text below expands on that.
