Glasses Direct offer for 2 pairs for £14 does work, asks for £43

I have a very basic prescription for reading glasses, been told that I have near perfect vision so not a complex prescription but when I add a pair of £49 glasses the only choice of lenses are Gold level ones (lowest level available), nothing on the webpage where I can choose basic, no link exists to a basic choice, I then chose the level (gold) and nothing extra, then add another pair as one pair free but end up with a £43 bill not £14 so it does not work. Tried half a dozen times but unsuccessful. I then rang Glasses Direct explaining the MSE offer, they said I had a complex prescription so I gave up! Has anyone got this to work?

I think having gone through, I think you have to pick from a small number of frames to get them for £14 - I've just done a basket with one pair of Jada (£14) and one pair of Bella (£65) with the most basic lenses for readers, which with the MSE code comes to £35.MikeyT201 said:I have a very basic prescription for reading glasses, been told that I have near perfect vision so not a complex prescription but when I add a pair of £49 glasses the only choice of lenses are Gold level ones (lowest level available), nothing on the webpage where I can choose basic, no link exists to a basic choice, I then chose the level (gold) and nothing extra, then add another pair as one pair free but end up with a £43 bill not £14 so it does not work. I've tried to purchase 2 pair of prescription frames too and experienced the same thing. I've used Glasses Direct many times and spoke to a Customer Service Advisor today who said that their website model changed last year and you have to select a lense package (cheapest is £29) to then go to your basket and purchase.
The glasses I wanted were both £49 but one lens package was £29 and the other was £99 - no other option). I've double checked and my prescription is still classified as 'basic lens', but this is not being offered.
Disappointed
