After leaving before dawn yesterday I made it in good time for my hospital appointment. The main road over the Rest was closed because of the heavy overnight rain though the local diversion was running under convoy. As I approached it the bloke at the lights let me join the end of the line of traffic so I wasn't held up at all. Later on I chose to cross the Clyde via the new Renfrew bridge. Small pleasures!
The consultant was a very gently spoken Russian with a rather limp handshake. Now he'll send out an appointment for the 'oscopy' which will take place later this month. Finding the clinic was a new challenge as it's in one of those large office centres on the outskirts and right next to Braehead shopping complex.I drove back to the west end and ended up at the Kelvingrove Art Museum for a few hours. Now I'm just about to go down for breakfast. My day here is free. My nephew is joining me later on.I've not remembered much from yesterday, sorry, though sending out hugs to all.11 -
Morning all and thanks Gers for the started - glad things went well, enjoy your day with your nephew. We had horrendous rain all afternoon and evening though it’s supposed to be drier now. Bdog will need a decent walk as it was too wet and dark when I got back from work (he’s 11 now and doesn’t mind a day off walking every now and again). The window cleaners came in Monday which is my prompt to clean the insides - probably one of my least favourite jobs….i tend to do it sections (there are a lot of windows) so I’ll start that later. The some craft work to keep me busy for the afternoon before watching Shetland this evening. That’s the day sorted then!!
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning Gers and all to follow
Raining here and quite chilly this morning, I am off to see Matt today so I hope he is in a settled mood.
I had two more emails from new lady yesterday I replied once more and was maybe a bit too firm with her but she seems to have got the message at last, I won’t be replying to any more messages anyway so I hope that’s an end to it.
Dinner tonight will be pizza and salad l do need to stop and get some salad leaves, we have the rest of the makings for salad so just need leaves, I did another Ocado shop in the end so that will be delivered tomorrow.
I spoke to Tru yesterday 😃 on FB she is doing very well and said she will try to pop in at some point, it’s nice to know she is ok though.
DD and I are going Christmas shopping on Saturday, I don’t like shopping at the weekend but it’s the only day we could both go so we will have to grin and bear it, I’m hoping to finish all the gift shopping and then will just have the fresh bits to get for the in-laws hamper that I do for them every year, I tend to go to M & S and get them loads of nice food bits that they won’t buy for themselves.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you had a good run to Glasgow and that the appointment went well. Enjoy your day x
That lady is very persistent @RedRuby1231! She should take the hint!!
The airport run went okay last night. DH and chums landed 40 minutes early so I only swung by the pickup point rather than parking. All good but I spent a total of 2hrs 20mins driving without a break. A bit much tbh.
DH back to work today and I am leaf sweeping as we have another swathe by the front door. DS2 had his first shift at Morrisons yesterday and has met a couple of folk his age. He’s back in again tomorrow. Dinner is burger in a bowl. How lovely to speak to Tru @RedRuby1231. I remember I named one of her chickens ‘Donna’ I think she’d rescued her from a kebab shop?? Will she be joining us again?Have a good day everyone

Morning folks and thanks GERS for the start.. I am pleased yesterday went as well as these things can. Enjoy your meet up with your DN.
RUBY let's hope you have now seen the back of this woman. I wonder how many other people she has upset before you. She needs an attitude change.
I enjoyed my lunch yesterday with DF and she had a lot of things to offload about her DH. She wouldn't want me to repeat any of it on here or to anyone else. She knows she can trust me to keep quiet. I feel so sorry for her and what she has to put up with.
Today is bus ride day with another lunch out. No doubt Skipton again and our usual lunch venue. Yesterday we escaped any rain after the early drizzle, so I hope today will be the same. Ever faithful brolly will be going with me. I am way behind myself with Christmas shopping so I am hoping I spot a few stocking fillers at least.
Have a lovely day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care x

Morning all, thanks Gers. Glad you enjoyed some little pleasures yesterday, and enjoy today with DN. I can rarely remember comments from the day before, they all get jumbled up in my brain overnight
Ruby, that's good you got to'speak' to Tru & hope she is well.Had a coffee and will take Lennydog out shortly, might have to give this afternoons one a miss if there are fireworks going off as not sure how he is. When I spoke to his previous owner at the weekend she said generally he was ok.I did beef nachos for tea and DH ended up having indigestion all evening. Not sure on tonight, as we'll be dropping DGS off at DS it's usually later so something easy.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off; glad your day yesterday went well. Another mild day here today but such dreary weather - yet more rain! I suppose we need it though to fill up the reservoirs so shouldn't grumble.
Yesterday's post dealt with - one piece of junk mail (binned), three FYI letters (filed) and one from the council that needs action. I'll lump that in with Friday's admin. Today I plan to finish getting the guest room ready for the weekend but may take a break from that mid-afternoon to do a top-up shop - providing we get the dry spell we're promised. Tea tonight is a tempura battered fish fillet with mushy peas, h/m rice pudding for afters.
@Gers - Have a good meet up with your nephew.
@AA - I have to pace myself with windows too - I'm not the spring chicken I once was!
@Ruby - Going by your experience with that lady, I'd say she's going to find it difficult to fill the position, given her demands. You've had a lucky escape.
@TA - It's good your DF has you to offload on. Hope you dodge the rain again today, enjoy your lunch.
@mehefin - Sorry to hear your back is still troubling you, car woes etc. Keep plodding on as best you can.
Well, I'm very comfortable sitting here next to the radiator but need to make a move if anything is to get done so I'll wish you all a good day. Take care and stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all...well yesterday was a day and half...got the cat in the carry thing, took him to the vets, they said he looks ok, put him back where you found him, he's managed this long by himself, I said no, not taking him back because he is a stray, deserves a home, there's an insanely busy road one street over, long story short, they took him unwillingly. He'll stay there for seven days then onto a rescue. If my cats had got on with him, I'd have kept him. Got home, wasn't raining but I was too wound up to do anything, got the post, got a PCN for driving in a bus lane when I got lost the other week, then phone calls about missing keys, tried to sort out what was available for a remortgage, couldnt get online, the lady tried to sort it but 45 mintues later, no joy, so now have to book a face to face which I don't want I just want to know what the options are...Hoping today is more sedate, meeting a friend for coffee or lunch, we'll see, and that's it...Have to make a list for what cake ingredients I need, will be supermarket sweeping later to find the cheapest. And phoning the builder again to see when they can come. I've definitely had enough drama now....Ruby, well done you. How lovely to see tru too! would she come back and do Christmas maybe? She was better at it than me, she had a knack for the right song
TA, we none of us would be very good friends if we couldn't keep our mouths shut about the important stuff. I suppose the flip side is knowing when to tell people they should get some help...mind you, one of my friends never bloody listens when you tell her that, there's always an excuse why something can't be done. Gers, well done on navigation and successful appointmenting! Allie, my commiserations, also not a fan of cleaning the insides. Happy invigilating....Rosy, so I might have to go to M&S then
hope he is ok with fireworks...Coxy, glad his first day went well enough to go back. I agree about the driving, I used to love it but now I get a pain in the shoulder for some reason...YorksLass, but the weather outside is frightful, the radiator is so delightful
Take care all, shout to the MIA, fingers crossed not for bad reasons....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8 -
Morning everyone just got in from a cleaning job and called at Lidl on the way back for some things it’s raining and dark and it has to be the same all day it’s miserable hubby is cleaning the fish tank out I’ve got plenty to be doing I’m going to have a cuppa first. Ruby she was definitely trouble you have done the right thing good luck to her getting anyone . TA we all sometimes need someone we can confide in knowing it will go no further I have a friend who I know it sounds awful I can’t get rid of and she thrives on gossip and half of it isn’t true and it doesn’t matter what you say to her it doesn’t sink in I get sick of saying to her I don’t know I’m not interested in other people’s business but it doesn’t stop her and she is to the point of rudeness questioning people she would think nothing of asking someone how much they got paid and then if someone says its nothing to do with you she calls them stuck up and she doesn’t like there attitude it’s like banging your head off a brick wall at least she doesn’t come to my house she hates my hubby but he’s not bothered the feelings mutual mind I don’t think it helps that he called her an evil spiteful jealous so and so I just said well you were warned . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Hello everyone
I've just read back over the last few days - I had little one from Sunday afternoon until just after 6pm yesterday so didn't get to read never mind posting. We had a lovely time together but it was quite nice to have a quiet breakfast and no rush to get her to school!
She is so full of questions...Monday morning started with 'Granny I'm not sure I believe that God made the whole world in 7 days, I think he was exaggerating!'
Anyways she was happy to be here, but also happy to go home with her mummy again,,,she'll be back on Friday night as DD has another fostering meeting on Saturday morning.
Only thing that's stuck in my mind is Izzy going to M and S for beans...I buy them there too I think they're the nearest taste to Heinz, which are a crazy price now.
I have a PIP assessment in the morning so I need to sort my paperwork, then I'm going over the road for a cuppa with my friend x10
