ACI and Verify chasing historic debt

The debt is from about 20 years ago - if not more and it does not appear on credit report.
As I have moved around a fair bit, how can I tell if there aren't any CCJs related to the original debt. I have been on the electoral roll for at least 7 years and I have not made a payment or acknowledged the debt for well over 15 years.
I'm worried that if I send the stat barred letter, I will just be confirming my address and identity?

Seems pretty likely this one, like most recent ACI purchases, is well statute barred.
If you want to be cautious just send a prove-it, see what comes back, then send a stat barred letter.
There's no way to find out if there was a ccj over 6 years ago. You have to assume if there was, they would have told you0 -
I`d send the prove-it letter first, see what they say in response.
From other recent posts on this company they appear to think a 20 year old debt is still live and collectable, and see no issues whatsoever in its collection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
