Morning Gers thanks for starting us off it’s mild here today but damp I’m going to meet my friend soon for a coffee and a catch up then when I get back it will be housework and I need to have a sort out in the freezer again I don’t know how it gets so messed up I got a few bargains in M&S yesterday they were reducing some things and I managed to get a few popped them in the freezer so I need to have a good sort out today and I need to leave some room for Xmas food I don’t know where these weeks are going . Not a lot happening here just plodding along and thinking a lot about family today we got news last night that the girl who cuts my hair her brother has been in a fatal accident only 30 years old with a young family we all know him he was younger than my lot but my youngest son worked with him at one time it brings home what’s important. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Mild and damp here too. Lovely weekend in the Wye Valley - visited Tintern Abbey and had a lovely 7 mile walk in the autumn sunshine yesterday.
Back to it later - loads of of online shop work to do and exam invigilating tomorrow.Take care all

Morning All
Wild and wet this morning, the wind was howling all night and the rain battering the windows, doesn't look like it will get properly light today.
Had a lovely visit from DD and the little one yesterday, I made the little one her favourite risotto for lunch so she was happy. DD made me some butternut squash soup that will do for my lunches this week, very comforting.
Ruby you do right to walk away from that contract, sounds like they want a slave.
Looks like you had good weather for your trip Allie, looks beautiful.
That's sad news Izzy.
Not sure what excitement is in store for today, not a lot I would suspect! Take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Wet and wild here too but still mild for November so that is a bonus. It's looking brighter at the mo but doubt it will last. It matters not what it does I suppose as not going anywhere.
So another day of same old same old. I need another freezer tidy too IZZY. It beats me how it gets such a mess when there is only me here! I think the main problem is all the little bags of portions, leftovers and other bits and pieces that just get shoved where there is a space. I am gradually trying to get though them all.
I recorded the new knitting prog last night but after reading the reviews this morning I may not bother watching it, which is a shame as I enjoy Bake Off, Sewing Bee, Pottery Throwdown, etc.
Have a good day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all x

Morning all, thanks for starting Gers. I've certainly been getting up a bit later since DH has been at home and then forget to post sometimes. It's been raining here.We had a quiet day yesterday. I rang my ex Sis-i-L for a catch up, we'll probably meet up in M/cr for something to eat in the next month or so. I tidied my card making stuff up. I found another box of stuff I knew I had somewhere
and threw some bits I wouldn't use again. DS donated a plastic drawer set so I put it in part of the wardrobe and hopefully be a bit more organised
@RedRuby , sounds like you've dodged another tricky situation, they sound very arrogant.Yorks Lass, good to know you are feeling a bit better, as you say perhaps the 1st anniv. has been preying on your mind for a while.Izzy, that's awful news, so sad.Back to school runs for us, I don't mind- at least it gives us a chance to see DGS most days still, seeing DGD is becoming less frequent - too busy with her friends. The roast beef dinner went down well, tonight it's meatballs in tomato sauce with garlic bread.Hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Raining here and has been most of the night and I think for most of the week coming.
Thanks for all the backup re the new person I emailed them yesterday and have heard nothing back at all 🙄 I am half expecting a call or email from the site where the job was advertised but as I signed nothing I’m not sure there is a lot they can do ? I do feel better having made the decision though which shows I have done the right thing, they also asked me to get the washing in and several other household jobs so I think you are right about them wanting a slave!
I got another email last night from someone looking for help for their son 😃 I’ve told her I can’t do anything until Matt moves but could maybe help then, so we have said we will keep in touch.
I have been saying to OH for weeks that there is something wrong in the utility room, the floor has become loose and paint has been flaking off of the walls, yesterday I went in there and the floor was spongy and squelching when I walked on it, we pulled the wm out to find a flood underneath 😩 the wm has been leaking from under the machine, so I have called the company who supplied it as it’s still under guarantee and am waiting for a reply, but I think we are going to have to claim on the house insurance as the floor needs taking up and let the room dry out and then it will need redecorating and new flooring put down, the worktop will also need replacing as that is also all warped and crumbling, we are also without a wm until it’s fixed which is a pain but luckily we can use mums in the mean time.
I am off to mums a bit later today as she has the hairdresser coming to give her a trim, so I will go up after and do a few jobs for her.
Dinner tonight will be the roast from yesterday so a nice easy dinner and I will need to get onto the insurance company once I am home.
Izzy how sad for that family, sending hugs xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning All
Izzy such sad news and so young, hugs.
Ruby good decision re the job, hope your wm sorted quickly.
Had a busy day cooking yesterday somebits now frozen. I am another one who needs to sort the freezer although we have been going through to eat things up.
Been to the doctors already thismorning for a review so that should be sorted for another year.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs to all who want them.

Thanks @Gers for today's start and good morning all. After overnight rain we're in for a cloudy day with a moderate breeze, showers possible anytime and hardly any difference in temperatures - 15 by day, 14 overnight. No matter, I've no-one to see and nowhere to be!
Yesterday I had to abandon the cross stitch after about 10 minutes and couldn't do any knitting either as my fingers are still stiff and sore (think it might be trigger finger
) but I did finish the jigsaw puzzle so at least I know my brain is still working!
I watched the new knitting show last night and was rather disappointed - similar format to Sewing Bee, Bake Off etc but definitely not in the same league. And what on earth was Tom Daley wearing? Early days I suppose and I will give it another chance next week but after that ....?
DS phoned at tea time and we've made plans for next weekend. On Saturday we're going to the Charity Bonfire & Fireworks event on Harrogate Stray (free but donations welcome) followed by a meal and I'll stay over at theirs; Sunday we'll come back here and they'll stay with me for the night. The schedule is Entertainment (?) at 5pm, Bonfire 6.30pm, Fireworks 7.15pm, ends at 9pm. I think I may need some warm clothing! There were quite a lot of fireworks going off round here over the weekend and I expect there will be more on Bonfire Night itself and next weekend too. They don't bother me but I do feel sorry for pets and their owners.
I seem to have a lot of milk in the fridge so I'll use some of it today for a SC rice pudding and will portion up/freeze the meat stripped from yesterday's chicken thighs - definitely enough there for 2, maybe 3, more meals. Tea tonight is a h/m mac'n cheese.
@Izzy - Such sad news about the young man.
@AA - Glad you had a good weekend, lovely photo too.
@Ruby - You've definitely made the right decision about the job - it has to work both ways. So sorry to hear about your leaking WM and the damage it's caused.
No other news so I'll wish you all a good day, take care and help yourself to a virtual hug if you feel the need. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
