I'm not an expert on the TPS - even though it, like the LGPS, is a public sector DB scheme, there are many differences.

But it does look like the highest level of TPS ill health only pays an enhancement of half the number of years to SPA, whereas the LGPS pays all years.  However, other factors apply - not least that OP would have to submit to two totally separate Ill Health requests, which may have different criteria, processes, and may even arrive at different answers.

This is more hope than expectation but is it possible TPS has a person or people who specialise in ill health retirements and is it possible the OP could get a direct number for such a person who could then talk the OP through it all?

Or might the Union have someone like that?
