Boiler via finance not installed properly

I had a boiler installed 2 years ago by a company that has now gone into administration.  I have recently started having issues with water hammer which I am advised would be sorted by having a limescale remover and a mini expansion vessel fitted.  The documentation I had from the boiler installers indicated that these were installed but I have now found that they were not.  I had a finance agreement with Novuna for paying for this so am I able to make a claim through them for these missing parts and subsequent work to rectify?

Contact Novuna and have details of your account with them to hand, hopefully you will get a sympathetic and helpful reply.

I don’t see how a limescale remover will stop water hammer, and if this is a combi boiler it will have an internal expansion tank.

What triggers the hammer the heating coming on is it coming from turning on a tap or something like a washing machine operating?

Depends on the boiler. Some manufacturers will specify a shock arrestor be fitted if a water meter is fitted due to internal check valves in the meter.
