Just an update …….
So my original installers - Sundial Solar Solutions, Okehampton, Devon - did some further checks up on the roof and established it was in fact the connections between panels and inverter that had failed.
Changed them all whilst up there and reliable generation recommenced ! ( when I say reliable I mean when we actually get some sun that is ).
He seems confident that despite the age of the inverter there’s no reason to change it as it’s still operating normally.
Its been nigh on a couple of weeks and all is well.
As I said before, if we were not planning to move then a battery system would definitely be on our list though.
Good news cost wise as it was obviously cheaper than a new inverter.
