DCBL letter private parking

Hi
I am new to this forum.
I received a letter from DCBL, dated 24th September 2025, saying 'Notice of Debt Recovery - Unpaid Parking Charge £170.00' relating to a parking charge 21.04.2022.
The letter reads 'we previously wrote to you at a different address but did not receive a response. We therefore utilised a tracing service which indicated this is your current address. We have been writing to you because you have an unpaid parking charge and Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd (DCBL) have instructed to collect the outstanding balance on behalf of our client. The parking charge was issued because the vehicle was parked in contravention of the terms and conditions outlined on the signage as agreed to by the driver when the vehicle entered and parked on private land. (Overststayed the maximum time allowed by the terms & conditions)
Rest of the letter is the standard.
I have a second letter dated 15.10.25, which i received today from DCBL, saying 'Final Reminder - unpaid parking charge £170.0'
'We wrote to you recently regarding an unpaid parking charge and Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd have been instructed to collect the outstanding balance on behalf of our client. The balance is still outstanding and you are now at risk of legal proceedings being issued against you.
In the event that a claim is issued against you, further fees and costs will be incurred and these will be added to the balance that you owe to our client. Therefore non-payment of the claim amount may result in County Court Judgement being entered against you. This may result in further enforcement action being taken and in some circumstances, it may prevent future lending.
The rest of the letter is there standard paragraph.
These letters are the first I have heard of this parking charge, also going back over 3 years, I dont know who was driving/parking on this particular occasion.
I am worried about getting CCJ's.

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters
Come back to this thread if or when you receive a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice, or a court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL within 6 years of the alleged incident date0 -
Since no previous letters were received and a trace was done to find your current address check the details on your V5C. Is the address current or an old one?
To ensure you receive all future letters/court claim, confirm your current address for service by notifying both company's data protection officers (DPO).You'll find email for each DPO in their privacy policy. Then send one email to parking company DPO and cc DCB Ltd.
Read and learn from the NEWBIES Announcement thread particularly Post 4 Debt letters/change address.1 -
I have sold the car between the dates of the allegations of parking and the DCBL letters. The date of the allegations was when I was still at my previous address, these letters sent now are to my current address.0
-
That is irrelevant as you were the keeper at the time of the event so, as @Nellymoser writes, you should inform the DPOs of your new address, else they might decide to send a claim form to an address at which you no longer reside and then be in receipt of a default CCJ.happidazi said:I have sold the car between the dates of the allegations of parking and the DCBL letters.
