I will be leaving the country in few weeks time. Do I have to write to them back or wait for more letters? I have also set up a new address for them to send letters to while im not here in the country.
Hope someone will advise some more and guide me. Starting to be nauseous again.
Thank you.

Just ignore the defaults , normally we would tell you to wait and see if they sell them on or just pass them on to collectors but it takes time and hopefully you will be out of the country before then.
Please stop getting upset this is all normal slow movement in debt collection. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Will I receive a notice if they have sold my loans on? And what about collectors? Also, I have changed my address to receive the letters while I am still here. Only to also see if it works coz i have been receiving a huge volume of reminders and dont want the next tenant to get annoyed. Which I hope not. 😔Grumpelstiltskin said:Just ignore the defaults , normally we would tell you to wait and see if they sell them on or just pass them on to collectors but it takes time and hopefully you will be out of the country before then.

Yes, they write to you when they sell the debt or allocate it for collection. You then have to wait again for the new people to contact you regarding payment. This can all take several months.Shookt38 said:

can you tell me what is a CCA and when should i request that?
Another thing is, one of the creditors is a credit union. Been taking off payments through salary. But i will be off work in a few weeks. What should i do with that? Thanks for your response0 -
A CCA is a Credit Card Agreement - the application made when you first got the card. Creditors need this to take legal action and if they don't have it the debt is unenforceable (but still owed technically). If you signed a paper copy then it is more likely that it will be unavailable, particularly if the debt has been sold on.
So if your original card was taken out more than 8ish years ago and has been sold on it's worth asking for the CCA from the current owner. There isn't much likelihood of success with recent cards still with the original card company.
Regarding the credit union just let them know that you can't pay this month. Shouldn't be problem if you give enough time.0 -
Ah alright. So I can ask this from Natwest coz it was long time ago.tigergambit said:A CCA is a Credit Card Agreement - the application made when you first got the card. When is your last salary paid?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
In the sense that people use it, a cca request is a formal request under s77-9 of the Consumer Credit Act
If a creditor does not comply with the request the debt is unenforceable until he does
It would not apply to Credit Union debts, utilities nor overdrafts. But it is a useful tool for credit cards, loans and catalogues0 -
You are going abroad for an indefinite period very shortly, it was explained right at the beginning of your previous thread that non of this will matter once you leave, and that you won`t have to do anything, as you won`t be in the country, that advice still stands.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
