Tax code change

Submitted a SA for tax year ending April 2025, calculating a tax refund is due back, received reduction to my paye tax code down 2120, I’m still working as self employed but did a week for an agency which has triggered this tax change, looked at my account and they have applied non coded income to may tax this year of the same amount that my self employments earnings where last year, I’m not going to be earning that amount again, can I requested the non coded to be removed, doesn’t affect me at the moment as I’m CIS sub contracting but will do if I do work under PAYE.

I actually did this yesterday on my gov.uk account.

HMRC have put an assumption of your extra income for this year (same as last year, as you say), but you can amend the figure. As I say I did this yesterday and I received confirmation this morning that my tax code has been changed.

Non coded income never appears in your tax code.

You can ask for it to be removed but I suspect you have misunderstood what has actually happened.

What exactly is the make up of this new tax code and, as you seemingly aren't currently employed who was it sent to 🤔

Do you mean you had a tax code with a deduction in it called non coded income?

When I looked into how my new tax code had been calculated it showed non coded income which matched the exact amount of income from self employed on my tax return

I worked via an agency for a week via PAYE Umbrella and that when I received my adjusted tax code.
