So I’ve checked on equifax and default is showing. I’m not going to rush into anything. Couple of questions, sorry if sound daft:
1 - now it’s defaulted just checking no more interest can be added?
2 - if Wescot are just managing the debt for Barclaycard does that mean way in the future there is no hope of settlement offers as it’s not officially been sold?3 - my 2 defaulted credit cards were opened in 2002 (always been a Barclaycard) and 2006 (was a sky card). When should I ask for CCA requests (no while Barclaycard still own the debts I’m guessing)?Thank you0

I would ask Westcot to produce the CCA now, for such a very old card, this is always worth a try0

Thank you I will do that.
Am I at a disadvantage as the haven’t actually sold the debt in the long run or am I over thinking it and they probably will in the long run? Just thinking if Barclaycard still own it they won’t want to look at settlement offers in the future. Thank you0

You may be overthinking this. See if they can produce the CCA and, if they can, set up a low payment arrangement.0

Take it step by step. It's still early days at the moment, it will probably be a while before you are in a position to make a settlement offer by which time Barclaycard may well have sold it to someone else.Personally I'd wait until it had been sold and had been with the purchaser for 6 months to a year before asking for the CCA.0

Some lenders assign bad debts to collectors within a very short space of time, sometimes they get repaid that way, sometimes not, if the DCA can`t get in contact with the debtor, they simply return the debt to Barclaycard.
Barclaycard may then hold off doing anything for a while, or they may rinse and repeat with another collector, or they may just wash their hands of the debt altogether and sell it, there is no way to determine an exact course of action.
Go with the CCA request first and see how that fairs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
