My geography is pants, but is Bolton any use? If it is, try Emmaus there.

Can you find Create? Are they any use? From the link I've given, they look similar to a project we have down here which would have refurbished machines available.

May I suggest a wanted ad on freecycle?

It is not a cheeky request IMO. We have managed to bag one this way. Even if it only last you a few months until you have the money to buy yourself a new one, then re offer this on the group.

    Alternitively, try your local paper.

    What is wrong with yours?

Ah, now that's a good thought from Hugo, on the 'in my home' board I am sure there is a link to a site which can help you diagnose and fix common problems. Sometimes it's a long and fiddly job, so expensive, but not beyond the competence of the home handyman, if you know such a creature ...

It's always worth looking on the manufacturer's website for manuals, you can often download the manual. I've done that often for things where I can't find the manual ...

Glad you got sorted. That does sound sort of terminal for the indesit, although you never know, sometimes it's something really simple. Although I remember one frustrating day when DH insisted that he wanted to take the machine apart to see what was wrong with it, only he didn't have the right kind of screwdriver, so we went into town to BUY the screwdriver, came home, took it apart and basically the drum was disintegrating, so shards of metal were cutting our clothes to shreds, which is what I'd suspected all along. So of course he couldn't fix it, and we then had to rush into town AGAIN and buy a washing machine in a hurry ...

probably a really stupid question but did you check to see if the belt was still on?
My washer was making sad noises and then stopped spinning it was the belt that had snapped - once it was replaced ( take off -get new one- put on job) it worked fine and it pumped out the spinning aids the pumping! If it is that then you will have 2 and if not then at least you still have one!:j
