99p packs of xmas cards in Whsmith today

in It's gone, but was it any good?
Just been to WHSmith today and they have a clearance on all packs of xmas cards all down to 99p. Got some great cards that were £7.99 which had gone down to 99p. :j

    Went to the Poole branch and got the SA to scan a box, still half price for us I am afraid. Last year I think it was about 10th before they got cheaper, by which time most had gone.

    When the till assistant presses the total button the cards reduce down to 99p. Bought some today!:j

    Clowance don't despair! Poster above is right - the packs I got today also came up as half price when they were going through and I queried it with the assistant as a sign in the shop said they were reduced to 99p. She checked with another assistant who told her the 99p price came up when they were all totalled up and they did! :T

    The assistant I had hadn't been told about it - they have a lot of temporary holiday staff in our one.

    Unfortunately no signs either in our store, still saying half price. I suppose it may go through at lower, but not a leg to stand on if it didnt so I think I will wait. Thanks for the info anyway.

    My local branch had them for 50p a pack .... £24 worth of cards for just £2.

    Went to my local in Kings Lynn today. No 99p signs, just marked as half price and sadly came up as half price when I paid for them. Just as well I only bought one pack of my favourites, but I will keep an eye out in case they reduce them further.

    Thanks anyway to the OP, I hope others were able to make best use of this deal.

    Got 6 packs of 3.99 cards today - standing in queue debating whether to put them back incase didn;t work ! Oh well nothing ventured nothing gained so plopped them on the counter - total £5.94 !!!:T
