HMRC bankruptcy and loosing our house

My husband has HMRC arrears as sole trader we had been in a payment arrangement and then they asked for an amount we couldn't pay and basically (their words) they cut the ties and closed us down took away the equipment and our chance to earn and pay back and sold it all at auction.
After a mental health breakdown we have been in contact with them for some time to make arrangements to pay and de register etc. They have been a nightmare rightly so we do owe them a lot of money.
So they ignored all offers and sent a demand with an enforcement agent. If we don't pay they push bankruptcy which was our plan but we were hoping they would accept the offer first.
So my question is our house was bought with homebuy we owe them the deposit and also a 3rd of any equity, the mortgage is interest only. My name is not on the mortgage but I have also lived there since we bought it 14 years ago do I have a stake? All the IVA help and debt support have said its so complex they wont take the house they might ask for someone to get a loan and his share of equity maybe 15k to be paid. Has anyone else been there? and kept their home
