Interesting, have never seen AIB do a switching offer before. As I'm in NI I'll be giving this one a go. 👍0

For me it's the fact that they've started allowing online applications that interests me, previously it was branch only.danny13579 said:Interesting, have never seen AIB do a switching offer before. As I'm in NI I'll be giving this one a go. 👍
If they remove the NI resident criteria for online accounts and make it so it's UK residents (as they do for branch applications) then that gives me another switching offer I can hoover up.
As an aside I don't think AIB is listed on @pecunianonolet's thread on banks that do hard/soft searches so please could you let us know whether or not they do a hard search for completeness?2 -
Irish banks are archaic, so the fact that they've finally started allowing online applications is a welcome surprise as is the switch offer.Bridlington1 said:For me it's the fact that they've started allowing online applications that interests me, previously it was branch only.
Can't see it happening, NI banks are very provincial, as we've also seen with Danske. Even Ulster seems to do fewer switch offers than NatWest and RBS, though their switch offers are UK wide.Bridlington1 said:If they remove the NI resident criteria for online accounts and make it so it's UK residents (as they do for branch applications) then that gives me another switching offer I can hoover up.
Will do, though it may take a while to show up on my credit report.Bridlington1 said:As an aside I don't think AIB is listed on @pecunianonolet's thread on banks that do hard/soft searches so please could you let us know whether or not they do a hard search for completeness?0 -
They did one in early 2015 under their former name First Trust Bank.danny13579 said:Interesting, have never seen AIB do a switching offer before. As I'm in NI I'll be giving this one a go. 👍

Just tried the big convoluted sign up process and it reset whole application when i was about to finish it. Getting bad “danske” vibes here. Maybe i will leave local banks alone.1

Just completed my application which was quite a time consuming exercise. Now awaiting approval and receipt of Docusign stuff.dertinbay said:Just tried the big convoluted sign up process and it reset whole application when i was about to finish it. Did you go ahead with your application?0 -
No Danny far too danske-esque for me to be comfortable redoing whole schbang again1

I've received the Docusign stuff but there is so much in it I couldn't face it tonight so will fill it all out tomorrow. The switching form is there too. So many forms, hopefully they all just need signing. Won't know if I'm approved until after I send it all back.dertinbay said:No Danny far too danske-esque for me to be comfortable redoing whole schbang again
I get that you're still traumatised after the Danske switch, but that £100 £200 will be very handy coming up to Christmas.
I'll post on here how it goes and hopefully it's a bit less traumatic. Don't give up just yet! 🤗1 -
Completed the Docusign stuff on Monday,

I've just completed the Docusign process. Nothing more I can do really, I'm not going setting up direct debits until I know my application has been accepted.Aidanmc said:Completed the Docusign stuff on Monday,
