What is the matter with John Lewis

I have been waiting since before Christmas for John Lewis's to collect a 2 items.
This is what happened:
Collection was agreed arranged before Christmas but they never turned up.
I rang them at 8pm on that day and they apologised and rebooked for 3rd of December.
I rang them on 2nd to ensure that this would be taking place and was assured that it will be collected as planned.
On the 3rd no collection so I rang them 12md to check that all was going to place as planned. No collection yet
So I rang again at 5pm on 3rd and lady told someone will be there before 6pm, waited and waited and rang again at 8.15 and was told that they don't understand why its not been picked.
So now they rebooked for 4th before 12md. No collection yet
Got a call at 12 md asking if I had problem so I explained all above
He apologised and said he will ring back. 10 mins later he rang and said that next collection will be next Wednesday.
I told him I can’t be taking time off work just like that and am not happy.
I requested to speak to the manager.
Manager was not available so and was told that he will ask manager to ring me back.
As yet still waiting for phone call.
Bit annoying as they are holding my money which i desperately need it.
Never had this problem with JL before.
