Ive been awarded £2000 by my employer for long service (40 years) the sting it must be vouchers so he doesnt pay tax!
I started by finding love to shop contactless vouchers that would give me a digital prepaid mastercard, that arrived by email, with £500 on it as a test (I was hoping for just £50) all up and running in my google wallet, off to tescos to do a shop, declined!, try it at petrol station, declined!
try using it in paypal, declined!, topping up my ovo energy account, declined!, Paying the wifes Next order, declined. You get the idea, totaly useless. So two questions
what can i do with is £500 prepaid master card? i dont want to spend on stuff i dont want and more importantly ive got £1500.00 to convert into "vouchers" what do i get that i can either use for my everyday shopping or convert easily into cash?
I have no idea what sub forum group to put this question in?

If it's being declined in various different places I would query this with Love2Shop. At the very least they should be able to tell you where it won't be declined.0

I don't understand the bit about converting the Love2shop vouchers into a digital prepaid Mastercard.
Could the declines be something to do with the fact that that only certain retailers accept the love2shop vouchers ?
Perhaps try using it in one of these

Tesco, PayPal, Ovo, Next, petrol stations - none of these are on the list of retailers that accept these cards.
Did you put £500 onto the card without reading this? You can't just use these cards anywhere. Only at the participating retailers.
There seems to be two kinds of Love2Shop card. Love2Shop gift cards (very restrictive) and the Love2Shop contactless card which looks like a debit card, which seems to have some extra participating retailers on it and can be accepted in store and online at most of these retailers, so slightly less restrictive.
It sounds like the contactless card one is the one you bought? If so it can be used at Sainsbury's but not Tesco.
Personally I wouldn't touch these cards with a bargepole.0 -

Don't understand how you applied for a £50 contactless card and got a £500 one? Is it your employer doing the ordering?0
