Hi all.
I applied for a job approximately 4 weeks ago. I was offered there and then. It's a zero hour contract (apparently). I have been trying to request the contract for 3 weeks, I keep being told, it's coming, it's on route etc... I said I'm happy to recieve via email, I can view and send back. Said many times.
I've just been told via email the manager is going to come to my home this afternoon to and deliver, I'm not comfortable with this, I have never experienced this. Is this normal. It's just a few hours cleaning. Thank you

Unless they're dropping the contract off, on their way home, it is unusual. You do not have to let the manager into your home.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Frankly I got uncomfortable at zero hour contract.
But it does take some time to produce a contract, particularly if it's a smaller company (big ones will just use a template). So the delay isn't too big a surprise.
Having a new manager coming to your home though would make me very uncomfortable. Do you invite them in? Do they want to come in? What about the family/tidiness/impressions they will have about your life - even if they only see the outside? I can't think of any reason why they couldn't email it and confirm that a paper copy is in the post.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. This does seem odd, I don't see why they don't just e-mail this to you. You can always ask them not to come.
Remember that even without a signed contract you do have certain rights as an employee. Not that many, considering it is a zero hour contract.0 -

Are you a woman?
If you are, that's probably why they, or more specifically, your male manager, is doing this.0 -

Presumably if it happened then OP would have dealt with the situation by now.
They may have meant they were going to put it through a letterbox.
Regardless. Doesn't sound very promising not to have had any contact by now and most companies would use email for initial comms0 -

I don't see it as unbelievably strange - after all they have your address and with streetview can see where you live anyhow. I would let them drop it off but just collect at the door and converse there if necessary. Not let them in.0
