yes that's great but I need to submit it asap because I am moving abroad next month
    Eh?

Why didn't you slowly reply to the LBC asking a question then giving your address abroad?! You would have completely stopped the claim!

This isn't 'sorted' by completing the easy early stage of defence. Who will get your post? How will you complete the DQ and Witness Statement later stages?

If you miss court deadlines by letters going to an old address you could get a CCJ. Is a relative on the case to open your mail?

Which address is the claim addressed to? Your family home?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I can still get mail at my address as I have a relative here. I can submit the DQ and Witness statement it's not a problem. I will be returning to the UK in February, is it possible to ask for a later date of hearing if I am not in the country?

If I were you, I would submit the defence as late as possible, maybe a day before the deadline. That way the file won't even reach your local court until Spring anyway.

You can (later on) nominate someone to take the Mediation call for you, if that helps.

Could I request a hearing by telephone or videocall as my UK number will still work abroad?

No, unlikely. I'm talking about the daft farce of mediation; one of the 8 steps that you read about in the template defence thread.

Just follow the format and style of the template defence, most of which is written for you and you only need to adjust paragraph #3
