PAYE Tax Calculation 2024-2025 Very Late This Year

I'm owed a rebate of tax paid for the year 2024-2025
I work short term contracts for the same company and are paid via their payroll provider.
My PAYE deductions are based on a full 12 months salary, but I only usually work 8/9 months a year, so by the end of the tax year I have usually overpaid by a few hundred pounds.
For the last few years I have got a letter in June/July with the annual tax calculation on it.
It's October now and nothing.
Checked on the Gateway gov site and they haven't done the calculation yet.
I only ever work for 1 company on a fixed hourly rate and no student loans or pension deductions. The tax calculation is very simple.
Anybody else's late?

As of 1stJuly 2025, HMRC have confirmed that they are dealing with significant delays due to an overwhelming backlog of work. Here's what you need to know: Refund requests are not being reviewed until at least October 2025. Once reviewed, the payment could take a further 12 weeks to arrive in your account.

No help for last year but for the future under these circumstances, same employer and probably same payroll provider could you ask them to leave you on the books all year. Probably would not work if you had other employments in between working for main employer.0

I think you did well to get the letter so early. Normally around September is the usual time, but last year it was later than that for most people as far as I know .0 -
I must have been lucky in previous years too as I always had notification/letter in June or July. This year in July HMRC have amended my tax code due to medical insurance benefit paid by my employer but the actual tax calculation for 24/25 is incomplete.Albermarle said:For the last few years I have got a letter in June/July with the annual tax calculation on it.

Hello, HMRC's guidance seems to suggest that the reconciliation process will continue into November this year: https://www.gov.uk/check-income-tax-last-year - presumably this is subject to change. If you are still waiting on a 24/25 P800 refund, particularly if it is causing you hardship, it may be possible to nudge HMRC along: https://www.litrg.org.uk/tax-nic/how-tax-collected/tax-refunds/paye-tax-refunds“Official Company Representative
