Thanks for the start Scarlet, and all that follow.I’ve been awake since 530am so wasted some time ‘browsing’ then finished my book.Back in college for a meeting today then some exam invigilation, and just like that it’s a new academic year!A quick foray in the loft yesterday produced boxes of Christmas craft stock so I think I’m well set up for this years’ craft fairs. Just some non-Christmas type gifts to make but no stress if I don’t get time.Hope everyone has a good day - it’s a warm start to the week here - 22C yesterday!

Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.Morning all. Still dank and gloomy but the wind has worn itself out. Power has been restored to everywhere and trees been removed. There's two huge ones near me which now have their enormous and very old roots poking in the air.Yesterday turned into a more busy day than I anticipated. I went for my almost forgotten-about 'flu jag. No Covid! Later the local TV dish man came round as I had realised that, despite it surviving the battering, mine was slightly out of line so I was missing some of the Freesat channels. He tweaked it and also reaffixed the dangling analogue aerial for Freeview channels. I can only receive the five main channels through thst even though the mast is about a mile directly in front of my house. He'll sort out a new one shortly, the gaffer tape won't last for ever.Today I, again, have no plans. My right arm is achy so lifting it is difficult. 😂😂 Think I can manage to fold and put away the now dry washing. 😀. I have some soup for lunch and will make a couple of small slices of roasted cheese to go with it. Perfect weather for roasted cheese.Take care everyone. Hope you're all safe and warm.10

Morning allGlad your just about back to normal after the storm @GersHad a nice meet up yesterday, went on longer than I thought too. Seems we can talk for England! From the stories my friend who still works at the prison tells us we are so glad we're not there any more. All the things that were bad about the place are still there but are just far worse than before!A calmer day weatherwise today so will get out into the garden and clear all the pots of all the dead summer flowers. Make a change after sitting on my behind for most of yesterday.Have a good day all x8

Morning all
Dry here but feels very cold, I am going to try and get to November before putting the heating on but we will see I was very tempted this morning.
I have two people coming today it was one of their Birthdays Sunday so he gets to choose what we do today, he has chosen shopping (I knew he would he loves shopping) and then lunch out he wants a toasted cheese and ham sandwich and a coffee we are meeting our friends as well so should be a nice day.
Dinner tonight will be something with chicken maybe a creamy hot sauce and some rice or pasta, dd is working late so just OH and I here for dinner.
I need to do an online shop tonight hopefully for tomorrow, I have some vouchers which were sent through so might use those although they are for Waitrose so a bit more expensive but it’s £15 off so might be worth it.
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Not much sun around yet this morning but still feeling mild.
I must do better than yesterday when I ended up doing not much at all! I had ordered a little book about the history of and anecdotes about our village and the wood that separates us from the community in the valley below. I thought it would be nice as a stocking filler for DS as they walk their dog in the wood and DS played a lot in there when he was a young lad. I skimmed through the book when I got it and of course ended up reading it instead of getting on with the outdoor jobs still waiting. Maybe today then!
When I went for my flu jab on Saturday there was a notice up about walk in clinics for the Covid jab, starting this week. Sadly no times given! The lady giving me my jab didn't know anything about it so I rang B**ts yesterday to enquire. I was then told Covid jabs are appointment only, starting next week! So I asked if I could have an appointment. Do you ever wish you hadn't bothered! Eventually she made me one for next Thursday and said I would get a text confirming it. I didn't get a text and I am left wondering if I even have got an appointment!
Have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. DP1, I hope you soon feel better. ROSY you seem to be on the mend but what a pain DH has such a wait now for his appointment after he had to cancel. REMMIE a day of good and bad news yesterday. Hope today is better. Take care all stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7 -
Good morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I have been for a run/walk this morning on a route that DD told me about. Was a bit challenging but I’m glad I did it. I do need to exercise more so this is a start. Now in gardening clothes to mulch another bed or two this morning whilst DH sorts a ladder radiator in the bathroom.I’ve some fundraising admin to sort this afternoon then it’s a catch up with BFF later.Have a good day all

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. After yesterday's mainly sunny but breezy weather, we're back to varying degrees of cloud for the best part of the day although it's not likely to rain and the gusty wind is thankfully no longer with us.
Grocery delivery arrived on time yesterday and didn't take too long to put away. I have a fantasy that one day I'll get an order where nothing has gone up in price but that's probably wishful thinking. This week's increases were 10p (again) on milk, 25p for a box of 8 choc ices (used to be 9), 25p on pouches of Idahoan mash (for winter stocks) and the worst one was £1.40 for arborio rice. This isn't something I buy very often and no doubt it has gone up in increments since I last bought one but it was still a shock to see a price tag of £2.40 for something that used to be £1, especially as it's the SM's own label. Risotto could now be an infrequent visitor to the menu!On the plus side, I have sprouts - not everyone's cup of tea but I love them.
And I'm fully stocked up for a good while with soap powder, toilet rolls etc too.
Eye test appointment today and, providing all is well, that should be the end of this year's all-things-medical. I'll drop off my CS bag first (currently sitting in the doorway so I don't forget it) and then have a CS browse after the eye appointment for some jigsaws to do over the winter months. Dinner tonight is a corned beef crispbake with carrots and sprouts.
@TA - A good book beats housework hands down any time! Hope you get your text confirmation soon. I read this morning that free Covid jabs are being restricted this year to over 75s, people classed as immuno-suppressed and residents in care homes for older people. Anyone outside these groups can still have one - if they pay for it - and apparently pharmacists are being faced with angry people who are no longer eligible for the free one.
Have a good day all, take care and stay safe. Healing wishes for the poorly ones, hugs if needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.5 -

Morning all, quite dull today . LDog has been on his walk around the park, looking for squirrels, socialising and refusing a treat off the park keeper, though he's quite happy to be fussed by himThanks @TravellingAbuela, yes he's a bit fed up the appt has been delayed. Hope you get your jab.@AlwaysAllie , I made quite a few cards yesterday, I need a count up to see how many more I need. I know I'm not going to post as many this year with the price of stampsNot sure what's for tea, something simple hopefully. I do have a gammon joint in the fridge that I can pressure cook in the InstantPot so that wouldn't take long.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning, I've just realised that I didn't come back after starting.
P!eased you've got your power back Gers.
It's not a bad day here, dry and not too cold. I'm just doing housework at the minute, I don't need to go out today, not until we go out tonight for the quiz, anyway.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.5
