NHS Pension - finding out what it will pay - nightmare

It will be based on the best of the last 3 years of salary when she was in work. So if she left the NHS in April 2025 they will count back 365 days then a further 365 days and then a further 365 days (although you said she wasn’t working in the NHS from October 2021 until April 2023). Then whichever salary is the highest they will take that as the final salary figure and calculate the benefits.1

PS I’m not sure how they factor inflation into it though if your wife has left a year or so before she is taking her pension. When I was looking for information about when they look back 3 years at the point at which you leave and take your pension I couldn’t find anything to say if they add any inflation onto years 2 and 3. I looked all over the NHSBA website but couldn’t find anything. I did ring them but they were unable to give me an answer.1

It looks like she might be better off going for the non McCloud option. Need to double check calculations with early retirement factor for taking 2015 at age 60.
In line with the rest of the awful website, they have
multiple versions of the early retirement factors.0
