Morning again.
It's nearly light outside, dry and cloudy. The forecast for the weekend is not good though.
We spent yesterday helping a friend who was moving house ( we weren't actually moving the furniture etc!) Just to be at the new house to receive things while she was at the old house overseeing the removal. There were a few problems but It all got done in the end, later than anticipated though.
She was exhausted by last night. I'll ring her this morning to see if she needs any help.
Sorry to hear things aren't going well for you Camelot. Hope you get sorted out soon.
Ruby, hope your day went well with your new lad.
Thoughts to the poorly people, hope you're ok Remmie, and anyone who is sad today.
Take care folks.

Morning all
Feels very cold here this morning I think we may light the fire either tonight or tomorrow when I am off I love a cosy day with the log burner doing its thing.
Yesterday went well with Matt until the last 1/2 hr or so when he had a melt down, he turns so quickly one moment he is happy then in a rage, I do feel for his mum who takes the brunt of it all.
I met with a potential new person in the afternoon with her mum, really nice family and I would love to work with them but I told the mum on the phone that I was only available on Wed / Thursday and she said that’s fine, then yesterday she said that they were covered on those days but could I cover weekends for her, I said I would think about it mainly because she was insistent and I was a bit embarrassed but I will text her today and say thank you but no, unless something comes up during the week, I have done my time working weekends and I don’t want to go back to it.
Dinner tonight is yet to be decided it’s just OH and I here as dd is working but we have a couple of choices, I also have shopping being delivered tonight.
Camelot I hope your builder can get to the bottom of your problem xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning - very rainy and dark here. Thanks for the start @Scarlet.@Ruby - that sounds like a trick to get you to work weekends, perhaps I'm wrong!i got the early bus home yesterday so was home by 12 noon, the journey was longer than usual as the diversion is one way with lights and the men let loads of traffic through each time as it takes so long to get up / down the glen. One huge heavy wagon let everyone go ahead as it would be very slow and difficult to go round the numerous right hand bends going up the hill. This morning I'm off down the peninsula for hair cut and colour, not the best weather for it. Mind, there's a storm / yellow weather warning for tomorrow and Saturday so this may well be the better time for it.Must awa' - take care everyone. Hugs to poorlies.13

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I think it's the calm before the storm here this morning, with the gales due to arrive through the night and stay for a couple of days. I hope not as bad as they are forecasting.
A much less hectic day for me yesterday with bus buddie. A gentle stroll round Skipton and then a nice lunch with lots of time for chatting afterwards. She is in the midst of a family drama and I think it did her good to offload her worries. I was last of the big spenders as far as buying anything was concerned. Just some freezer bags and a couple of packs of Skinny Crunch.
Today, unless I hear to the contrary, is lunch day with DF. To be honest I wouldn't be sorry if she cancelled as I could do with a stay at home day. I might have time to give the kitchen and bathroom a once over before I go out if I get my skates on.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all. Bit dull here but hoping it brightens up later.
Got a bit overwhelmed with organising shopping and food for the rest of the week but I think I'm sorted now. It's DSiL's birthday today but we're having a family get together tomorrow night so DS and his wife can drive up after work. I just need to check if I'm meant to be buying some double cream but I'm babysitting for them tonight so can ask then. Today I need to make the meringues for a pudding for Saturday plus mocha squares. I'm also going to do some pork in the slow cooker so I can eat early and then head off to babysit. DH has an AGM tonight so will need to be out on time anyway.
Have been looking into Scottish Country Dance groups nearby and might try one next week. I need a bit more physical exercise!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Definitely stand your ground with the weekend working @RedRuby1231 I’m sure another job opportunity will come up x
I planted some bulbs yesterday and mulched the front gate beds. Neighbour complimented me on my work(!) and when I told him I’d planted bulbs as none had come up this year he told me the squirrels get them - flaming squirrels will be the bane of my life!! More garden tidying/mulching to do today and DH will cut the front lawn.DS2 was unsuccessful with the A!di role - too many applicants apparently, but he has applied for a couple of coding roles relevant to his degree. I heard from DSis yesterday that her pal would like to meet me next week to discuss terms for a part time admin role at her mortgage broking business - whoop!Dinner tonight is breaded fish fillets, chips and green beans - nice and easy.Get well wishes to all our poorly folk and stay safe in the inclement weather. We have DH’s pals here over the weekend, camping in the garden. Just hope they don’t get blown away 😳
Have a good day all

Morning everyone
I had a nice long chat with eldest DD in Germany last night, she's full of cold but apparently will be better by Sunday as she's doing another Hyrox competition with a friend.
I've woke up with a sore throat this morning, I've had a lemsip.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning, as I need to go down to nursery a bit earlier tomorrow. The strong winds are supposed to start here on Friday night, DD and little one will be staying in a little pod near Musselburgh so hopefully they won't blow away!
Best get moving, I hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning allCalm before the storm here too!@Coxy11 I'm with you re squirrels. I put nets and sticks over pots when I planted bulbs last year but it wasn't totally successful with the wind etc and they got some. Our garden looks like a golf course at the moment after they've been digging holes in it too. They look so sweet but grrrrrrrrrNew larger radiator fitted. Didn't realise it was such a faff. He was here for over 3 hours but I put the heating on for an hour or so last night and could feel the difference right away so all good.Have a good day all x8

Morning all from Mehefinland
After a day perched on a ladder yesterday I am definitely feeling my age!! managed to get the bulk of the high bits painted and I can do the lower stuff another time. Will have to purchase yet more paint - I swear this wall is drinking the stuff!!
Naughty horses managed to break through the electric fence into the other half of the paddock yesterday. Much looks of innocence and it wasn't me . Then of course I had to get them back in to the correct bit, which turned into a real saga. They had managed to unclip the fence in one place so Fairy just popped over it and belted off to the barn - she knew she was in disgrace. Showman had his thicko head on ... galloping up and down the fence line, screaming his head off, but not going near it to come out. I ended up taking a big chunk of the fence down to no avail. Eventually I managed to catch him with a rope and pull him over the scary white tape!! He shot off with great speed to find Fairy. At least he got a bit of a sweat on!!
On investigation I was at fault - I hadn't turned the blasted fence on!! They got a rude awakening this morning when they went on patrol to the fence .
Hugs and spoons as always - need to crack on with the painting before the storms come in.

Morning all and thanks for today's start @Scarlet. It's a dry beginning to the day with sunny intervals until later tonight when it will be overcast and breezy with outbreaks of heavy rain. Top temps of 18 deg and 13 deg overnight so quite mild. It's looking like good weather for ducks though for the next few days!
Flu jab done in record time yesterday - no queue outside the surgery so it was a case of in/jabbed/out - with just a little bit of stiffness in my arm this morning. Then along came another surprise when the bus home arrived - a brand new electric one with comfortable seats, wifi, a stop-name destination board with voice over etc. I normally walk whenever I can but I could be tempted to use my bus pass more often now! Called in at the shop for milk, a box of lemon & ginger teabags and a TV guide that were on my list plus YS bananas and spring onions that weren't.
The day has not started well as the bathroom scales have confirmed what I suspected - the weight is creeping back up!I could delude myself into thinking the scales are faulty but they're not; the reality is too many after dinner puddings and in-between meal snacks that will have to stop - again. Only half a stone but, as we all know, it's easier to put on than to take off.
I have a towels wash in the WM that can go outside to dry, maybe a short tumble dry to finish them off, and will do the curtain changeover in the last bedroom that will complete the upstairs windows; downstairs earmarked for next week. Looking forward to tonight's All Creatures - no snacks though! - and I'll still have the planned kyiv for tea but with side salad rather than oven chips and no pudding.
@Ruby - Stick to your guns, if you don't want to work weekends then don't. You need some downtime for yourself.
@WL - Happy birthday to DSiL, enjoy the family get together tomorrow.
@Coxy - Sorry DS didn't get the Aldi role, I wish him better luck with the coding ones he's applied for. Good luck to you too with the potential admin role.
@mehefin - Yep, ladders remind you all too well of advancing years! Naughty horses indeed but you clearly love them.
Right, WM has finished so I'll wish you all a good day. Take care, hugs aplenty where wanted or needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
