Bagless Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaner- £39.99

I was looking for a vacuum cleaner on behalf of my parents, and I get an email from lidl yesterday with this one!

http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080110.p.Bagless_Cyclonic_Vacuum_Cleaner.ar2

Features:
  • Variable power control
  • Transparent dust container, capacity (L): 3.2
  • Adjustable floor brush
  • Telescopic metal extension tube
  • With on-board tool storage
  • Cable length approx. (m): 5.5
  • 220 - 240V
  • Weight (kg): 5.1
  • 3 year manufacturer's warranty
What I really want to know is, is it any good? I mean you get 3 years warranty too! So if it's good, then other people can know about it too, and if it's bad, then people should be warned not to get it;)

Not had that particular item but did get an electric insect killer from them in the Summer it came with a 3 year guarantee. The thing packed up after two weeks by which time I had chucked out the receipt :( but I had kept the box, looked in the box and found the guarantee, rang the freefone number on it (it got through to Germany), spoke to a nice chap who promised to send one to me for free - 3 weeks' later it arrived, plus I got to keep the broken one (which my electrician mate has now fitted a new bulb to). I buy lots of stuff in Lidl and haven't had a problem - anything that is GS or TUV marked is good value because these are German standard marks and they seem to be higher rated than stuff marked here.

I don't think anyone can answer that, I havn't seen them in Lidls before, so probably a new line.

3 Year Warranty - less than £40, you can't really go wrong.

I saw this too as i am in the market for a cleaner after breaking my folks Dyson :(. They have exactly the same machine in BHS but it is branded VAX at £59.99 with the same power, so worth a try at £20 cheaper
