Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope the weather where you are is ok, it's absolutely horrid here.
It seemed like a long old day at work yesterday as I was so tired but should be better this morning as I didn't have too bad a sleep for a change.
The builders have ripped out the laundry and it's not good news, the concrete floor under the wooden floor is wet, need to find out where it's all coming from. It's not great weatherwise to be looking for damp! They have stripped the walls back to bare brick and the WM isn't plumbed in - will have to go over to my friend's later to use her machine.
I have the dentist after work, part of a filling fell out the other day and is ripping my tongue to bits, hope he can at least put a cover on it until I can get a full appointment.
I seem full of moans and groans at the moment!
Hope you had a day of memories TA.
Happy Anniversary for yesterday NRA.
Glad your procedure went well Remmie.
Hope you're all well and have a good day. Take care. XX

Pinch Punch, first of the month!Morning again. I made it to Glasgow and through the Lulu event without any embarrassing coughing fit. The evening was interesting and entertaining, lots of 'reflections' and nuggets of her life. She can still belt out a good tune at 76 and three quarters!Sorry about the news from your builder @Camelot.I think it's raining outside, haven't opened the curtains as there's building works happening right outside the window. I'm off home on the 9.00 am coach. 🤞as the main Rest was closed with traffic diverted along the massively scary Old Military Road. Hugs to all.12

Morning all
Cold here but not raining which is good, I am off to work with new lad today until lunch time and then I have a meeting this afternoon with a potential new lady she has very complex issues so I am in two minds about it but will see how is goes this afternoon.
Bit of excitement this morning, I wear ear plugs at night to block out the sound of OH snoring and went to pull them out and one snapped off and a bit got stuck in my ear ! Luckily OH was still at home and managed to get it out eventually thank goodness otherwise I would have had to go to A&E with something stuck in my ear like a toddler 😂😂
Dinner tonight will be pork belly strips with a sauce and rice and peas, I did an online shop for delivery tomorrow but need to pop in and get milk today.
TA hugs to you I hope yesterday was full of good memories xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Oh CAMELOT that's not sounding very promising, not to mention costly.
Yesterday was far more hectic than I had anticipated. DD picked me up at 12.30, along with eldest DGD still on her crutches and the cumbersome boot on. The plaster is off and they are happy at how it's going so far. It's now 2 months since the accident but still ongoing. She is back in another month and hopefully all will stilll be going well.
.
DD suggested a run to the big retail park with a quick snack for lunch and dinner later. DD can shop for England, me and DGD not so! We finally made it for dinner at 6.30 all absolutely ravenous. I finally fell through the door at 9.20 totally whacked but I had enjoyed my day despite that!
Today promises to be less hectic thank goodness. It's bus trip day (Skipton) with a gentle wander round and then our usual wine 'n dine lunch and much talking. Other than lunch I must try to keep my purse shut as I spent more than enough yesterday!
REMMIE I'm sorry your first op was unpleasant. When I had my right eye done the surgeon was lovely and kept me abreast with all he was doing all through the op.. It didn't bode well when I went back for my left eye doing and the surgeon (a different one) came swanning in an hour late with no apology for all sat waiting. Then all through the op he spent the whole time he was doing my eye talking to a nurse about his time and experiences at a hospital in Bournemouth where he had previously worked.
Well must get moving I have waffled on too much. Have a lovely day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care xx

Morning allHope your building work isn't too costly Camelt. Never really been keen on Lulu Gers but I'm sure she had some interesting anecdotes to tell. Ruby you did make me laugh thinking you might have to go to A&E like a toddler!Just finished some ironing and now have to keep myself amused while the workman is here putting a larger radiator on in the living room to replace a smaller one. Front door wide open while he drains the system so a bit chilly now I've sat down.Hope everyone has a good day x8

Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you enjoyed the show last night and safe journey back home x
That's not good news @camelot1001 - you have my sympathies. Have you checked your home insurance for any possible claim?
Glad you had a good, if hectic day yesterday @TravellingAbuela and enjoy your lunch out today.
Hope all goes well today @RedRuby1231 - glad your OH managed to remove the ear debris!
Good to hear the eye op went well @remmie - does the other eye need doing too?
It's DD and DIL's birthdays today. They both loved their gifts and we are out for dinner later in Canterbury - Vietnamese - not too sure what I will have as not familiar with any dishes.
We have turned on the heating (timed) but despite this I'm experiencing circulation issues in my hands and left leg. Really annoying - maybe I need to move more!! I have some life admin to do today plus a whites wash load to go on.
Wishing everyone a good day

Morning everyone just got in from a cleaning job it’s tipping down what a dark miserable day it is I’m having a cuppa then I will have to find something to occupy myself I was going to batch cook some pasta sauce but ended up doing it last night house is clean for now I cleaned drawers and cupboards out before I went away I feel like I’m ahead of myself but my foot is feeling a lot better today just aching no actual pain I can walk a lot better. Hubby got two pairs of jeans yesterday they will last him years the only trouble is he can’t get a short leg although he’s tall he’s legs aren’t so I took them to be altered they will be ready Friday it wasn’t as bad as I thought apart from him huffing and puffing because I wouldn’t let him out of the shop without trying them on and he had the young lad running around in circles after him I’ve had better behaved two year olds . Ruby I’m sorry for laughing it was the toddler. Remmie I’m pleased your eye op is out of the way and fingers crossed for a nicer doctor next time . Camelot I hope they are able to sort the damp out and the bills not to big . Gers pleased you managed to have a good time minus the coughing. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Thanks @Gers for today's thread at the beginning of a new month; glad you made it to the Lulu event. It's a gloomy old start to October - mild but with light rain and a gentle breeze predicted for the best part of the day, such a change from yesterday when it was almost like summer! I mentioned there were still a few ladybirds around - there were lots of them yesterday.
One pair of curtains washed yesterday and the ones in my bedroom changed that somehow developed into a full bedroom clean.Needless to say the milk run didn't happen but it will today; I'm going for my flu jab this afternoon after which I'll stay on the bus home for an extra stop so I can call into the shop for that and a few other bits and bobs. It's a flu "clinic" for the over 65s involving an outside queue at the back entrance to the surgery (I think a brolly might be a necessary accessory!), batches of patients ushered in and individually siphoned off into a consulting room for the jab, then out through reception at the front. A bit of a conveyor belt system that obviously gets people in and out asap. Tonight I'll raid the freezer for some kind of fish dish for tea.
@camelot - Moan away all you like, we all have "those" days sometimes! I hope it's not going to be a long or expensive job.
@Ruby - Thank goodness you didn't end up in A&E!
@TA - Glad you had an enjoyable day with DD and DGD, enjoy an equally enjoyable (but frugal!) trip to Skipton today.
@remmie - Halfway there now, I hope you have a more pleasant experience with eye no 2. Like @TA, my first surgeon couldn't have been nicer but the second one definitely missed the boat when it came to empathy and patience.
That's today's chit chat, must get a wriggle on. Best wishes for a good day, take care and please help yourself to a virtual hug if you need or want one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hello everyone
It's a miserable day here too, I stewarded at our local cinema this morning for a film called The Roses which I enjoyed, there were quite a few people there for a wet Wednesday morning.
I came home with a cheese and onion bake from Greggs that I've just enjoyed for my lunch with some beans.
I've a couple of jobs to do then I'll pop over to my friends for a cuppa.
Gers you reminded me of Dumpling...I wonder how her family is getting on.
Hope everyone has a good day x9
