Volume changes on it's own

I have an HP ENVY Curved All-in-One - 34-b010
I have downloaded the latest driver(?) for my Real High Definition Audio card = 1.41.1094.0 RevA.

I have an annoying pop up flashing every few minutes when the volume changes up or down on it's own.

Any ideas on what to do, other than throwing my PC in the bin?

Did you get that driver update from the HP website?

Is the pop-up trying to sell you something?

is your Windows Security saying everything is up-to-date and happy?

I'd download Malwarebytes and run a scan, see if it finds any bad stuff.

Try Windows System Restore to roll the whole setup back to a point before you installed the dodgy Realtek update. It’s under Control Panel → Recovery → Open System Restore. Pick a restore point, reboot, and it’ll put your drivers and settings back the way they were.

I got driver from HP website, per their recommendation
Pop up does nothing other than flash changes to volume
Windows Security reports up to date and zero warnings
Malwarebytes reports Firewall Enabled, Windows up to date
Malwarebytes reports Digital footprint results: Your data is exposed
I found this PUP.Optional.Avanquest \PDFSUITE2021INSTALLER.EXE
I doubt this is causing the volume issue, but I have deleted it.

I got driver from HP website, per their recommendation. I do not believe it is dodgy.
Volume starts changing after circa 10 minutes. I think the sound card may have developed a fault?

There's no separate soundcard in that box, just a Realtek chip on the motherboard.

Have you run HP's hardware diagnostics tool?

Damn, but that's a handsome bit of kit.

HP's hardware diagnostics is not installed, support assistant is not working and I cannot install latest version 9 on this PC.

I purchased CCleaner. I have updated all my drivers and optimised performance.
That seems to have fixed my volume issue and PC is running a lot quicker.
