Hi, looking for some advise on an email I have received. Aqua not showing as defaulted yet on my credit report although it does sy contract terminated on my app and I have not received anything in terms of a letter in the post. All letters in my app.(ishis the same) I have now had an email from Moorcroft asking me to contact them. I have googled and it says they only contact you if they hve bought the debt? Is this correct please and is this the time to contact them and set up a payment plan? Thanks for any advise.

I'd say wait to you know for sure it's defaulted. Are you defaulting on other debts too or just this one?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Defaulting on all, they are starting to drop through now but nothing showing on my credit report as yet for anything. Starting to panic a bit now incase they turn up at my door.0

Do I have a leg to stand on if they started court proceedings because I haven't acemted due to debts not showing defaults on my credit file.0

no one is going to turn up at your door.
Should they decide to do something like that it's a couple of years in to the future at least and will never happen if you set up a payment plan AFTER the defaults. Sending someone out who has any power to do anything means they have gone as far as taking court action and you would see that in your credit report a few months minimum before any actual person appears. Court action involves a lot of expense on their side as would getting a body to go to yours. Much easier for them to send nasty letters.
OK so IF someone did show up they have no right to enter your property. If they should get abusive, pushy just pull out your mobile and make like you are filming them as that will stop them in their tracks. But as they have as much right to enter your property as some random neighbour, just don't answer the door. If it's bucketing down with rain and they need the loo, don't let them in.
Credit reports will take a while to update - sometimes 3 months. And sometimes it won't be obvious what's happend. Your Aqua (& others) will eventually show as zero and a new creditor (like Moorcroft) will pop up for the same amount.
Meanwhile you have the right to tell them to not email, text or phone and that all communication must be by letter. That way you have a record of what is going on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I know, Its because its all starting to escalate with contact and I'm just panicking a bit. Thanks for the advice.0

There is no need to panic, remember you are in control, you decide who, how much and when you pay.
Just remember as I have said nothing happens quickly in debt collection, I hope you are ignoring phone calls, texts and E Mails, just open anything you get by snail mail.
All the things that happen are just standard letters, no one is looking at you as an individual it's all computer generated, the computer deals with thousands of debts each day.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -
Thankyou for this, yes I am ignoring everything and just filing all letters. Just checking in here to make sure I'm not missing anything when I get anything new through. I have emailed Moor croft today to advise them to only contact me via Post as advised earlier in the thread as no default is yet recorded.
