Help! HMRC State Pension Topup Callback

Back in May 2025, I was waiting for a callback from HMRC on a Friday, but nobody called until... the following Monday. Not a big deal, I hear you say... but a young lady only asked for my date of birth and national insurance number, and that was it!
Forward wind to a few months later as we are all heading into October, and I've since heard nothing. I kept waiting and waiting - and not so much procrastinating by not recontacting HMRC - but I think I need to understand what the current situation is now because I have waited long enough.
If there is a backlog, great, then just tell me, HMRC. They have my contact details, do they not?
The stress is now overwhelming, and I feel like suing them / someone for the unwanted sleepless nights - it's a real thing!
If I pay approximately £2,500, I will receive £10,000 over 10 years, and I figured that if I am still alive to clain 30 years of state pension, then I would obviously very much appreciate that extra £30k... but I first need to pay them, but how?
I have the money to send them just sitting in my bank - it's been sitting there staring at me for ages - but I am so tempted to buy another guitar. That's even more stress, haha!

Does anyone have any updates for me please. Thanks in advance.

The first call was triaging by a non qualified to help operator to confirm your details and if you still needed help. They are prioritising by retirement date and on the last reckoning their progress put the expected end date no sooner than Christmastime. Nothing has been stated about actual progress since. People have been getting through on the phone now so maybe worth giving it a try.0

If you are confident in your figures is there any reason you haven't just paid it?0 -
I had the first triage call and was then expecting a 2nd call to give me further details but received a letter detailing the payments I could make (I already receive my pension). I called the number to get the payment reference number and details and got through within 5 minutes, and made the payment as soon as I cam off the phone. Just waiting for the recalculation of pension now but happy to wait for that.0
