Am I doing the right thing?

Hi all.
Just want to check I'm going along the right lines here.
One of my credit cards defaulted in seot 2023. Last payment was April 23.
It was passed to westcot, back to original lender, to moorcroft ... I have not interacted in anyway with any of these companies . The last contact I received in writing was moorcroft in August 24. No idea if they try phoning me as I just don't bother with unrecognised numbers.

Anyway I have other accounts on a sekf managed dmp and have been reading about requesting cca's.

But am I right in thinking I should NOT request a cca for the debt this post is about as that woukd be acknowledging the debt?
I'm now thinking it might be possible to ride it out and keep my fingers crossed it becomes statute barred.

If they do eventually sell the debt on I guess that would be the time to do the cca request?

Hope I've explained myself clearly

Acknowledgement of a debt in writing really means nothing, yes its my debt, so what, means nothing as a rule, its only going to be an issue if you intend to rely on the debt becoming statute barred.

The limitation period in England and Wales is 6 years without payment or written acknowledgement.

    Is that your plan?

If so stay quiet unless you have to contact them, if they start a court claim for example, otherwise stay off the radar.
