Morning allReally misty out there this morning but due to brighten up a bit later.Had a lovely weekend in London. Went up the Sky Garden with views for miles. Enjoyed the Tower of London and going up Tower Bridge. While we were on Tower Bridge the bridge came up so we watched it from above through the glass floor! Hotel was right near the bridge so had a lovely view of the London skyline.Came home and in the garden was a young fox lying down in the middle of the grass barely breathing. Went slowly over with a bit of ham but no response, called DH and by the time he came out the fox breathed it's last. Not a mark on it so it may have been poisoned maybe? Ruined the weekend somewhat, poor thing :-(Off for a hearing test todaay at my local hospital but apart from that getting back in the old routine.Have a good day all x14

Morning again, it seems dry, yesterday was quite a nice day.
We didn't do much apart from a trip to Morries for a few essentials, I think I'll do an online shop, I do one every now and again.
I'm trying to finish the Book Club book, and struggling with it. I only joined the group a few years ago because a determined friend who was a member went on and on trying to get me to join. They are a nice group, nothing wrong with the people, I just don't like talking about the books we read ! I am a keen reader, always have been, so it's not that I don't like reading, though we have had some strange books. It's only an hour and a half or so a month, so hardly onerous, but I always leave the library afterwards feeling quite lighthearted, sort of relieved that it's over! Anyway, I have another week before the next session.
TA and WL, I also find that the cooking smells of curry and fish hang about a bit, despite having the extractor on, and keeping doors closed. I never made stuff like that in the caravan, otherwise smells would be in everything, my hair included.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday Izzy, the Northumberland coast has always been a favourite with us, as has the N Yorks coast.
Hope the cold sufferers are feeling better, and that everyone else is ok, take care folks.
I've just read your post about the fox Chrisca, how sad, poor thing.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. After early mist it's now brightening up and I can see the sun about to peep over the moors. This might (only might!) be the day I finally tidy up the back garden!
Other than that a day of same old same old, but there are numerous jobs I keep avoiding!. No cooking to do as I made double everything yesterday so it will be a warm up of leftovers for dinner. Afters will be some more of the lovely strawberries I got at the w/e.
Have a lovely day folks if you can. ((HUGS)) for all in need. Welcome back Izzy, glad you had a lovely break. and I hope the cold sufferers are feeling better. Take care all, stay safe x

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Glad you had a good time in London @Chrisca50 but sad about the fox ☹️
We finally got home at 8pm after a diversion to an antiques centre near Nantwich snd dropping our pals home to Hertford. We had to stop for a cheeky McDs as were flagging! I’m food shopping today plus need to colour my hair - it seems to look fine then all of a sudden I’m like a badger!
Wishing all our poorlies better and have a good day all.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 18/25 Currently reading It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover15 -
Morning all
Very cold here this morning 🥶 I’ve just been out to feed the birds and came back in sharpish !I’m off to mums today to do some work and she wants to visit a couple of shops to do some Christmas browsing / shopping and she needs some veg too, I’m sure we will have a cuppa while out too.
Dinner tonight will be roast from yesterday I just need to heat it through later so a nice easy dinner, I have a work meeting later so we will need something quick afterwards.
I have put a wash on this morning will try and hang it out before work and I will run the hoover round as well.
Chrisca how sad about the poor fox 🥲
I put a safeguarding report in yesterday about Rob, his mum put a post on a local page on FB saying thank you to the lady who helped him when he absconded from home the other night, she said the weather was dreadful and it was dark and he had to cross a main road 😡 it was obviously after the carers had finished and his mum is too frail to go after him, he never ran off once in respite so I think it shows how unhappy he is being there, it’s also extremely dangerous for him to be out alone, apart from the obvious dangers of traffic etc anyone could have taken him, I’m sure nothing will happen about the safeguarding but I had to do something, bless him.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -

Dull and murky out this morning, such a change from yesterday's lovely sunshine - not that I saw much of that as once the little one had been collected I went back to bed for a few hours, stupid gallstones meant I had been awake all Saturday night. Still a constant ache but better than it was and I've managed a bit of toast this morning.
Sounds like you had a good day in London Chrisca, shame you had to deal with the poor little fox when you got back.
Glad you had a good holiday Izzy, I love Northumberland.
I think I would struggle with the book club too Scarlet, I enjoy reading but not sure I could discuss it after, it's such a personal thing.
Hope those with colds are improving.
Good luck with your new client Ruby.
I'm going to walk down to the little town in a bit for a few supplies from Savers and take the soft plastic recycling, apart from that nothing much going on, it's the September weekend here so no school until tomorrow.
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -

Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Sunny here so I think I'll make a start on putting the garden furniture away. Some of the pots are nearly finished so they can be emptied and washed.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Good morning everyone , a chilly one here also but sunny! ☀️
I set a timer last night to do rice pudding in the slow cooker, it came out great. Had to get DS off to college early so having a prepped warm brekkie was nice!My plan today is to try sort the dining room, and get back into good habits of eating dinner in there. The house is a bit of a mess since an injury a couple months back. Need to get myself together 😍October GC 🧡🫶 £111.19/£400

Morning all, thanks to @Scarlet for today's start. After an early morning mist, it's now sunny with almost cloudless blue skies, not a breath of wind and no rain although cloud is expected to return later in the afternoon. Top temps of 16 deg dropping to 8 deg overnight.
Yesterday I started to alter another pair of trousers but had to abandon that as the little and ring fingers on my right hand have been giving me some grief over the last few days; they're not swollen, just sore and stiff. I don't think it's arthritis, probably more over-use like an RSI so knitting, cross stitch and hand sewing are off the cards for now.
On to today. After a quick vac of the living room I'll make a start on changing the summer curtains for the heavier winter ones. In a younger life, I'd have done every window in one day; now it's more like just one window per day - but at least I can still do it.The only other pressing thing I need to do is to ring the optician for an annual eye test. Easy tea tonight of pasta with the last tub of tomato based sauce from the freezer, I'll add some sliced mushrooms to bulk it out a bit.
@Chrisca - Glad you enjoyed your weekend in London but not such a nice homecoming.
@Scarlet - I've been thinking for some time about joining a Book Club but not sure it would be for me. I love reading for the sheer enjoyment of it rather than discussing it afterwards.
@Ruby - Oh dear, it seems your fears for Rob's safety at home are coming home to roost.
@camelot - Fingers crossed the gallstones settle down soon.
Enjoy the day, healing thoughts for the poorly ones, hugs aplenty for anyone in need. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11
