Morning again, it's been raining here but seems to be brightening.
We went into Newcastle yesterday for a stroll round and a bit of shopping, It was busy of course, but ok. We had actually intended to get another bus out of Newcastle and go further north, but we were running a bit late, so we'll do that another day, preferably a week day.
TA, we didn't like the 'putting the caravan to bed for the winter' process, draining the water system etc. Of course there was always that lovely feeling you got when you were preparing for your first jaunt of the year a few months later!
Newroadahead and Gers, hope you're both feeling a bit better.
Yorkslass, you've been busy as usual.
Your day out sounded nice Mehefin.
Haven't seen themsthebreaks for a few days.
I don't think there's much going on here today, we'll see anyway.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.

Morning all.
It's raining here and very dark; have got the lights on indoors.
Had a great day in St Albans yesterday, playing for several Morris sides as we danced around the City. I got the train in from Bedford as parking is horrendously expensive in St Albans. Today will be quieter but I have a pub music session this afternoon so will meet up with people there.
The house still smells of Friday night's curry; some smells really linger!
Happy Sunday everyone.12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. There is evidence of some overnight rain here but could only have been light stuff as no puddles about.
I decided I hadn't done enough washing after I had cleared all the caravan stuff so this morning I stripped my bed and the wm is chugging away yet again! It doesn't look too promising out there so I doubt it well get hung outside so the dehumidifier will be working overtime.
I have just fished some shepherds pie bases out of the freezer for my dinner today and tomorrow, to be topped with faithful Idahoan mash. Also a bag of frozen swede so just carrots and sugar snap peas to prep. The latter were a real bargain - reduced to 50p but went through the till at 10p! Had I known I would have bought a few bags to freeze.
WL I know what you mean about lingering smells in the kitchen. I love smoked haddock but feel I can smell it for days afterwards!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. GERS and NRA I hope you are both convalescing nicely. Take care all, stay safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all - I've had a lazy start. Been awake for ages just not inclined to get going for a while. The cold is also lingering though definitely on the way out.The promised / threatened torrential rain and flood didn't happen yesterday. We had persistent rain and wind but not heavy at all. Places not far from here did get the predicted horrors, somehow it swerved past here. I stayed indoors all day waiting for the bad weather. Today the sky is blue, there's a low mist lying over the sea and along the river which meets it, quite picturesque. I watched the very long Strictly whilst in bed, there's an awful lot of fluffy stuff in between the action. As usual at this stage of the contest there were some fab dances and some duff ones.I may go up to the food festival at the wee town this morning, it does mean either buying lovely stuff to eat or not buying lovely stuff to eat. It's a conundrum which never ends.Great dancing @WL - you get around with the side. My Darlington friends and my ex (not together, they've never met!) went across to see the Stockton and Darlington Railway 200th anniversary journey yesterday. The photos I was sent look really fab.Right, time for coffee, papers and making my mind up! Hope all are well, not drowned or frozen out. Hugs all round.10

Morning everyone back from my holiday yesterday we had a lovely week and the weather was definitely on our side sunshine all the way but it’s nice to be back in your own bed . I’ve hung a load of washing out and another is nearly finished it should dry it’s meant to be fine all day I’ve a little beef joint in the oven veg and Yorkshire puddings later but before that I’m going to sort my freezers out and do a meal plan of sorts for the rest of the week if not two weeks I will be filling them for Xmas soon and I’m not having them stuffed to the gills like last year as I usually buy a good bit of the cheap Xmas veg and prep and freeze it well that’s the plan . I’m sure a lot of you are the same but I’m finding my shopping bill going up and up I always take food away with me but we do have a couple of meals out pop in for a cake somewhere we didn’t as much this time as the prices were extortionate but at least it helped the diet I came home weighing the same never done that before. Hubby is washing the car getting all the sand of from the Lindisfarne causeway so I will make a head start with the freezers while he is out of the way I have read along but it’s all gone out of my head . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all
Dry here but overcast so no sun but at least it’s not raining. I didn’t get out in the garden yesterday so that is still to do, I pulled one of the sofas out in the lounge to get something that had gone under and it was filthy under there so I spent the whole afternoon pulling everything out and cleaning the floors, skirting boards and walls I also took the curtains down to wash which I will do this morning and then get them back up, they are only very thin ones for show more than anything so a quick turn in the TD will finish them off, the lounge window looks out into the conservatory and then into our garden so don’t need heavy curtains and we have a blind up for privacy not that we pull that down often, it feels better knowing it’s all clean now, I may do the study today.
Roast pork for dinner tonight with all the trimmings dd is working a late so just OH and I here for dinner, I will do enough for two days so she can have one tomorrow.
I contacted a lady yesterday who is looking for help for her daughter who lives in her own flat but needs 24 hr care I am going to meet them Wednesday afternoon so I hope it all goes well.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all (just!), thanks @Scarlet for starting us off. Yesterday stayed fine all day followed by some light overnight rain and it felt a good deal milder than of late. Today we're promised a dry day with a mixture of sunny intervals and some cloud but none of the wet stuff, top temps of 17 deg.
Yesterday I totted up this months grocery spends and was pleased to have come in under budget, although not as much as I would have liked or even expected, given that I've been "shopping" from the freezer and cupboards. On the flip side, winter supplies are building up nicely. After that, I made a start on the sewing pile and have shortened one pair of trousers. Thanks to @camelot's mention of risotto, that's what I had for tea (prawns, peppers & mushrooms); much enjoyed with another portion frozen for some other time. The evening's new BBC drama was sufficiently intriguing to make me want to tune in for the next episode, presumably next Saturday.
Not much happening today other than some more sewing this afternoon. Dinner will be some cooked gammon slices with potatoes and veg; I could have sworn I'd used the last of the gammon but found a couple of slices "hiding" in one of the freezer drawers so they came out for defrosting - only to be replaced by the risotto!
Nearly time for lunch - I'm fancying a couple of crumpets & cheese - so I'll wish everyone a good day and hope our poorly ones are improving. Take care all, be good to yourselves. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
