Morning, thanks Gers. How are you? you were starting a heavy cold.
Fine dry morning here, yesterday wasn't a bad day. We tidied the garden, and swept up some leaves, but we have a lot of trees opposite and when the leaves really start dropping we'll be sweeping up till kingdom come.
I did some ironing as well, there wasn't much. Not that I iron everything these days, some stuff just doesn't need it. I used to iron king size duvet covers! Not now.
However that was our exciting day yesterday.
We might go out today, somewhere on the bus.
Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.

Thanks @Scarlet. My cold is heavy and coughy though, strangely, I feel better this morning despite it. Mind you, I'm still lingering in bed.Yesterday I was fairly productive. WM did a white load. I had a med appointment after which I came home to hang out the clothes then I went up to the small town. There was a pair of slippers to collect, a requested birthday present, then I bought mostly vegetables before heading home. A late lunch and then I slobbed a bit. The day was glorious, the final one of three consecutive beauties, so I was 'forced' into doing some wee chores in the garden. I rewarded myself by catching up with Taskmaster and the first episode of Shakespeare and Hathaway - both of which didn't need full attention, I may have snoozed a little bit! I roused myself enough to book a shopping pick up slot at M&S and order some Christmas food.
Today we are forecasted to have a band of torrential rain moving very slowly through the area with a flood alert too. So far, all dry. There's a troop of scouts camped out nearby, complete with chemical toilets, so I hope they're not washed away. No real plans as it all depends on the weather if I'm active and energised or fall into sloth.I hope that all are well and can keep dry. Hugs to our poorlies.9 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Unlike the last few days we have no sunny start here this morning and none is forecast and we may even have light drizzle. The remaining never ending washing will have to be dried indoors methinks.
The wm was ongoing almost non-stop yesterday but I am at last seeing daylight with all the caravan washing. DD and youngest DGD are going to the 'van for a few days over half term and then we will have the tedious job of shutting up shop for the winter. Although that job is nowhere near as bad as when we had the tourer on site.
SS has been brought forward to this afternoon so I guess DS has plans for tomorrow. I am in dire need of f & v and dairy stuff but still wading through the freezers so, other than frozen berries, nothing is needed for them. But some goodies may fall in my trolly for a Strictly treat tonight.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Good morning from dull Mehefinland
The promised rain has been postponed until later in the day according to the weather maps - I'll believe that when I see it. Still chipping away at the endless task of painting Mehefin towers- Balancing on top of a step ladder with a nearly empty tub of paint, and a brush that has decided it has had enough was not a pretty sight, and was a little un-nerving. Picasso is having a run for his money here.
So to have a change of scene I went after lunch for a lovely walk along the cliffs at Nash Point, and hence to a cafe concert held at Atlantic College (please Google it!) which featured music from around the world. The students ( all aged 16-19) are international and are all extremely talented. In this concert there were young people from Argentina, Spain, Wales, and Hong Kong to name just some that I remember. It was a joy to hear and see such enthusiasm, and to see how well these youngsters presented themselves, and how self confident they mostly seemed .It is a monthly event, so I shall hope to go again sometime in the future.
Whilst sat on the beach at Nash I took a call from my GP and my chest xray is normal, so now I am being referred to a specialist clinic... no doubt another wait. Was quite amazed that there was a phone signal as there are massive cliffs at this point of the Heritage coast.
Better go and scrape some more ivy debris off the wall so I wish you all well.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning All
No sunny start here either, it's quite blustery and rain is due in a little while so I'll go up to allotment 1 to do some tidying up.
I've taken friend's DD to work this morning and done the shopping so that's one job out of the way. I bought a voucher through work with a discount for Aldi, wasn't sure how it would work but will definitely buy more, just a 1.8% discount but it's my SM of choice so it all helps.
Hope you're feeling better Gers.
Enjoy your trip out Scarlet, I have the leaf sweep to look forward to!
Sounds like you had a lovely day Mehefin, be careful on that ladder.
I have the little one overnight tonight (she must have reminded me about 10 times yesterday) so need to get all the jobs done before she arrives. The usual risotto for dinner - she's a creature of habit!
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning everyone
I had a lovely lie in this morning until almost half past 9 as I didn't have little one last night - she rang me after work with 'granny mum will bring me up tomorrow I'm just about to climb Arthurs Seat' There was a photo a while later of them almost at the top.
I decided to treat myself and ordered fish and chips to be delivered for my tea, which were delicious.
Today will be a lazy one playing whatever little one wants to play.
Mehefin I've heard of that college, it's popular with European royalty...I think there was a Spanish princess attended recently. Doesn't your brain remember some odd things!
Topher - there's also the museum at Beamish
Right I've had my ping to say they're on their way. I hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here and looks to be a good day, the wm is about to finish so I will hang that out there is another load to go in after.
I am going to spend some time in the garden today getting it ready for winter I will sort out the little shed a bit so I have room for the table chairs to go in, I might get rid of the table and chairs next spring as we just don’t use them now we have the sofa out there, I need to get all the cushions in too and store them for winter.
The carbonara from yesterday will now happen today as we ended up having a quick pizza and chips last night, I also got a joint of pork out of the freezer for tomorrow.
Dogs to be walked later and a bit of housework and I will spend some time looking for a job.
Gers I’m glad you are feeling a bit better xx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off. Glad to hear you're feeling a wee bit better this morning. It was cloudy when I got up but the sun eventually came out to play so there are blue skies and a light breeze at the moment. The cloud is set to return this afternoon though with a spell of rain more than likely this evening. Top temps around 16 deg dipping to 9 deg overnight.
It was such a nice day yesterday that I walked the long way round to the Co-op; small shop of a TV guide, grapes and a tin of sardines plus a YS pack of morning rolls. The staff are not happy as there are plans for them to have their hours cut down sometime between now and Xmas whilst still doing the same amount of work. Having done their job for about 5 years in the dim and distant past, I know just how they must be feeling. Once home I did a freezer tidy up (again) and am pleased to see some wriggle room appearing at long last.
General cleaning. tidying etc today after which I'll attack something from the ever-growing sewing pile. I don't mind sewing so I don't know why I put it off! I have a pack of prawns to use for tea and was thinking of a stir fry but @camelot's mention of risotto is making me think otherwise! Last choc ice from the freezer for afters. Tonight's TV schedules seem to be awash with repeats and of course Strictly (I used to watch but no longer - too long and I haven't a clue who the "celebrities" are) but I might give BBC's new drama, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, a whirl.
@Scarlet - Apart from ironing pillow cases, my iron is practically redundant these days!
@mehefin - The cafe concert sounds like a lovely way to relax, much better than painting walls! Good news on your chest X-ray.
Right, I think the kitchen floor will be dry by now so I'll crack on but wish everyone a good weekend and send healing wishes for the poorly ones. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Late one from me today woke up early hours full of cold and feeling yuck.
DH been out to get me some lemsip and sucky sweets as my throat is really dry.
Have left the men watching rugby and footie and im going to have a nana nap.
Very pleased that when our boiler man came yesterday he was able to fix as we had no hot water or heating. We do have log burner if urgent but i dont really feel the cold DH would happily have heating on a lot more.
We are supposed to be going away on Monday hence my trying to nip this in the bud.
Apologies i have read along but fuzzy head so will wish you all a lovely weekend, hugs to all who want them.

@mehefin I've been to Atlantic College - 16 years ago the then fiancé was working in Cardiff and we walked round to Barry in stages, and Atlantic College was the end point of one stage.
