Banned from Qmee for "poor survey practices" - without ever having done a survey with them...

So I've just signed up with Qmee to do surveys, and I got a message on my account page saying

"Oh Dear!

There seems to be something wrong with your account.
Don't panic - just drop our friendly support team a quick email, and they'll take a look for you."

So I e-mailed them, and this is the response I got:

Hi there,

Our tech team have reviewed your account in conjunction with feedback from our survey partners, and we regret to inform you that your profile has been banned due to poor survey practices.

Please note that Qmee operates a platform that facilitates the survey providers, who use their own quality detection methods to identify poor survey practices in their own surveys.

Any balance remaining on the account is associated with fraudulent activity and is therefore invalid and cannot be redeemed.

Please be aware that any attempt to create a new account will be automatically detected and suspended. We may take further legal action if required.

We are unable to provide any further support regarding your account and will not respond to future messages.

Thanks
Olivia

The thing is, I've not done any surveys with them, so how could I possibly be accused of "poor survey practices" when all I've done is create an account there? Has anyone else had a similar experience with them cancelling an account on such false pretences?

Have you done any surveys with anyone else? Qmee is associated with Kantar for example so it might be that they are sharing information between linked survey sites.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I signed up with YouGov and Ipsos the same day as Qmee, and have done a total of about four surveys via them, all with honest and consistent answers.
