Definitely not those are mainly found outside (there are hundreds in my garden). Even if it was they are not the dangerous beasts than a lot of the media claim they are.
This will be one of the house spiders of which there are a number of closely related species. All harmless unless you are a fly.1 -

No. The false widow is more compact with a shiny black body. Usually found outdoors and can give a nasty bite that will take a couple of weeks to heal

It should be easily identifiable by the shape of thorax and abdomen with the pale band around it.
I tried a bit but could take a long time.
Wait for Farway to come along with his AI skills 😉
I've noticed a number of different ones lately. We've lost all our song birds around me (they've moved away) because of the drought so I think spiders are thriving.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I had one living in the wing mirror mounting of my old van. I waited till I was ready to move off, then gave it a push. Hopefully, it's decided to relocate, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it back again tomorrow. The van seems to attract them, as this isn't the first year I've done an eviction.fatbelly said:No. The false widow is more compact with a shiny black body. It was hiding in gap between sill and window I was cleaning. I guess kill them with a stone or something. How do you make sure don't get bitten?Dustyevsky said:0 -
I've just flicked them away. I didn't wish to kill them. If I had one near windows on the house, I'd scoop it into a saucepan, or similar, and release it somewhere a good distance away.textbook said:
