Civil Service Pension - Contributions
Anyone know how the contribution bands work for CSP Alpha?
I work part time ( 4 days a week ) but my FTE has just moved from £54,000 to 56,100 as part of the recent pay award.
However if I was working 5 days a week this would mean contributions now jump from 5.45% to 7.35% contributions – therefore my 3.25% increase is straightaway dropped by 1.9% making it worth 1.35% - if I was on 5 days a week, nearly half again would go on the extra tax I’d pay.
However as I only work 4 days a week, my salary would go from £45500 to £44900 – comfortably under the higher threshold – UNLESS they use the FTE to allocate banding, rather than the actual / estimated Pensionable Earnings.
Any insight gratefully received!

Its based on full time salary whatever hours you work."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

It is based on your actual pay, reference here:For avoidance of doubt, part-time workers would continue to have their salary threshold worked out using their actual pay, and not their full-time equivalent salary3

Definitely based upon your actual pay. Mine dropped from 7.35% to 5.45% when I partially retired.1

What dates did this happen ( @ClashCityRocker1 )?
This talks about ~"annualised" rate - not sure what that means in terms of working part time...

Contribution rates were changed to be based on actual earnings rather than ful-time equivalent from 1 April 2015. If you want the full detail it is in this employer pension notice.Annualised rate just means monthly pay multiplied by 12.0
