Who informed you of that ?
What time period are you taling about ?
As far as I'm aware ther is a time period of 32 years (from 1978 to 2010) to be able to claim Home Responsibility Protection), and no upper limit onthe number of years you can claim Child Benefit providing you meet the eligibility crotera,

I assume you’re referring to Home Responsibilities Protection which did indeed have that 22 years maximum when HRP transferred over to the new NI Credits in 2010.

I think that's the most important and first question.

And pre 2010 the age was 16.  OP needs to clarify which period child benefit was claimed.
  • Wanted to pay £800.80 to top up my wife's pension for 2021/2022
Used gov gateway and it came up with £923.
Rang Future Pension centre and after 45 minutes spoke to someone who said it all went up after April 5th.
Everybody as well as this site is showing £800.80, but they now want £923.
    Whose right and whose wrong.

21-22 was £800.80 in year and up until 5 April 2024 when it should have increased to £907.40 but was held at £800.80 due to the extension of the 2016 pension transitional arrangements.  It then increased to £923.00, the current year price in accordance with the normal regulations, on 6 April 2025 unless you were subject to a call back booked before that date.
edit  just found the MSE article, it has not yet been updated for 25-26.  I have e-mailed the team and hope they will correct the info soon.
