Starlogic displays are at the budget end of the TFT market and I believe they only have a 1 year return to base warranty but I can't see any confirmation of that on the Amazon site.0 -
Whats the difference between TFT and LCD, anyone better than the other?0

From somewhere on the web
TFT - Short for thin film transistor, a type of LCD flat-panel display screen, in which each pixel is controlled by from one to four transistors. The TFT technology provides the best resolution of all the flat-panel techniques, but it is also the most expensive. TFT screens are sometimes called active-matrix LCDs.
LCD - Short for liquid crystal display, a type of display used in digital watches and many portable computers. LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them. Each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light. Color LCD displays use two basic techniques for producing color: Passive matrix is the less expensive of the two technologies. The other technology, called thin film transistor (TFT) or active-matrix, produces color images that are as sharp as traditional CRT displays, but the technology is expensive.
Hope that helps
Forgot to add...looking at the tech spec for this monitor it says

Thanks, Tx
TFT / LCD are transposed frequently nowadays in sentences.
TFT is a form of LCD, nowadays, end users dont need to know that other forms of LCD exist.
back in the old days there were DS, TN, STN, types of LCD, these produced lower quality displays and were much cheaper than a TFT type.
nowadays, TFT are cheap to produce and are in 99% of modern (up to 3 years or so) monitors!
if you've a TFT, you've a flat, thin screen
if you've an LCD, you've a flat, thin screen
5 years ago, if you had an LCD, it may or may not have been TFT :-)money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
